Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Biofiltration of methane from dairy barns
AMRC-0032-1B
This project aims to have a methane oxidation biosystem uses an organic substrate to filter the exhaust air that comes from the ventilation of a dairy barn and converts the methane to carbon dioxide and water vapour in the presence of oxygen and methanotrophic bacteria.

Implementing a Linseed-based Feed Ingredient to Reduce Enteric Methane Emissions on Canadian Dairy Farms
AMRC-0048-1B
This project aims to develop an innovative, scalable feed strategy for reducing enteric methane emissions on Canadian dairy farms using a dry-extrusion linseed-based feed ingredient in cow rations. This solution offers co-benefits to farmers and will be scaled among Agropur's members.

Sire Selection Tool for Industry Methane Reduction
AMRC-0036-1B
This project aims the creation of an application (or module or add-in) that allows the end-user to identify the best bulls during the bull selection process for enteric methane mitigation. It will do this by identifying bulls with superior characteristics for lowering enteric methane (intensity) in the Canadian beef value chain.

Sustainable Methane Reduction in Dairy Farming through Ozone Technology
AMRC-0039-1B
This project aims to generate ozone on-site to reduce methane emissions in dairy barns. Ozone reacts naturally, breaking down into oxygen offering a chemical-free way to improve air and water quality. This sustainable approach supports farm efficiency and environmental goals.
