The Renewed WVL-Caribbean will address the practical and strategic needs of women, girls and boys, and gender-diverse people through specific approaches and efforts to address gender inequality. The project aims to support organizations that are poised to continue to meet the practical needs of women, children, and gender-diverse people who are vulnerable and marginalized and increase their agency and sense of empowerment.

The Project aims to deliver learner-centered, competency-based, and gender-responsive Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) services to support ethnic minority women (EMW) and other marginalized women (MW). It seeks to equip them with essential skills for the green transition, including sustainable agriculture, circular economy practices, and green industrial techniques. By enhancing their access to inclusive and market-driven TVET, the project will improve their resilience, adaptability, and economic opportunities, enabling them to secure decent jobs or start businesses while reducing the risks associated with unsafe domestic and international migration for low-skilled work. The Project also focuses on increasing EMW and MW’s involvement in TVET decision-making and strengthening service providers' capacity to break down systemic barriers, promote economic empowerment, and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive workforce. This project aims to improve aid effectiveness in Sri Lanka and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the country. It provides support to the Development Partners Secretariat, administered through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), to increase donor collaboration, coherence and policy dialogue in Sri Lanka. The Development Partners Secretariat is a mechanism for information sharing and enhanced coordination towards improved aid effectiveness, operating in accordance with Sri Lanka’s United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023 to 2027. This project is part of Canada’s Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) Program. It supports local and regional women’s rights organizations (WROs), lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex plus (LBTQI+) groups and feminist networks working to promote the rights of women and girls and advance gender equality globally. It provides multi-year core funding and rapid responsive funding, strengthens institutional capacity and bolsters feminist movements, as WROs and feminist movements are critical change agents. The Program continues to respond to the globally recognized and significant gap in funding and support for WROs and feminist movements worldwide. It includes enhanced support for WROs, LBTQI+ organizations, and women human rights defenders (WHRDs) working in crisis- and conflict-affected settings and a more intentional approach to reaching structurally excluded groups. This initiative will examine the trajectories of emerging and disruptive technologies (EDT) and other weapons of mass destruction relevant technologies (WMD-RT), with the aim of identifying those that either present WMD threats that can be countered or have the potential to support WMD non-proliferation and counter-terrorism efforts. Project activities include: (1) Conducting a Global Mapping and Horizon Scanning Workshop; (2)Conducting a Scenario Building and Futures Workshop and; (3) Producing a final report and action plan that provides insights and recommendations for Global Partnership action on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) Related Technologies

The Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) Bangladesh (2024-2029) project will support the most vulnerable women and communities of Bangladesh by providing capacity building and multi-year funding to selected women’s rights organizations (WROs). It will also support networking and alliance-building among WROs to influence policy and decision-makers more effectively. The project will scale up outreach activities, support mass advocacy campaigns, and strengthen the operations of these WROs. It will target a wider range of WROs addressing themes such as prevention of sexual and gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, marginalization and exclusion, safe migration, human rights, and social movements to protect women’s rights. This project will be national in scope and expects to reach 70,000 women directly and 130,000 indirectly.

Hurricane Beryl in July caused extensive damage in Jamaica and cost the agricultural sector $4.73 billion in losses, affecting 48,852 farmers. The project aims to equip rural at-risk youth in Manchester, Jamaica, with vocational skills and certifications to enhance their livelihood and income opportunities and improve community climate resilience. The Project intends to empower 210 rural youth through skills training in trades such as crop production, commercial food preparation, greenhouse technology, butchery, and nail care. The project also aims to train youths in climate-smart farming techniques like irrigation, crop rotation, and mulching, and intends to better equip them to support local agriculture education and food supply.

This project is part of Canada’s Renewed Women Voice and Leadership flagship initiative. It will aim to equip PEKKA Foundation and Pekka union activists with the necessary skills, resources and support to strengthen their ability to effectively advocate for women's rights and drive sustainable social change. This will, in turn, enhance their cohesiveness and sustainability and help them work in a coordinated and collaborative manner, building an active feminist movement for long-term change. By promoting gender equality and empowering women to assert their rights, the project aims to foster an environment where access and control over livelihood and economic resources, social and legal protection and security are no longer sources of inequality, and structural poverty.

This project is part of Canada’s Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership Program, which supports local and regional women’s organizations and networks that are working to promote women’s rights, and advance women’s empowerment and gender equality in developing countries. This is done by supporting their activities, building institutional capacity, and promoting network and alliance-building, as women’s rights and feminist organizations are critical agents of change. The Program also responds to the significant, globally recognized gap in funding and support to women’s rights organizations and movements around the world.

The project is facilitated by CARE and implemented under the leadership of Women-Lead Organizations and networks themselves, offering space for them to determine key priorities, selection processes, and results, and will remain flexible to the context and needs of the South Sudan women’s rights movement. This initiative will support an estimated 25 WLOs and 8 networks with multiyear, flexible, operational funding to strengthen their structure, enhance their management and programming capacities, all while improving their ability to sustain their organization's and service delivery with additional predictable funding. Additionally, 40 rapid response funds (RRFs) will be allocated to address emergent needs.

This project aims to improve quality reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) services in Liberia, Pakistan and Zambia. Project activities include: (1) training primary health care workforce to provide gender-responsive RMNCH and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs; (2) teaching hygiene behaviour change interventions in health and community settings; (3) training and supporting the community in advocacy and leadership for gender-responsive, inclusive health and WASH services and rights; (4) training health system duty bearers at national, subnational and district levels in gender-responsive budgeting, planning, monitoring and reporting of inclusive WASH services; and (5) generating and sharing evidence on integrated WASH and health intervention models among health and WASH sectors in target countries and globally. The project seeks to benefit over 1 million women, 700,000 men, 800,000 adolescents and 100,000 children, including those living with disabilities, in the target countries. It works in partnership with WaterAid’s local offices in the target countries, as well as local organizations.
