On May 1, 2020, the Government of Canada banned 1,500 assault-style firearms and variants as part of its comprehensive strategy to tackle gun violence in Canada. Today, more than 2,500 makes and models have been banned. The Assault-Style Firearms Compensation Program (ASFCP) will provide fair compensation for eligible businesses who possess prohibited firearms and devices and participate in the program.

The purpose of this Contribution is to provide funding to this local Eritrean community organization to enhance their security. The population that uses the facility will feel safer from hate-motivated incidents/crimes following the purchase and installation of CCTV cameras in their community gathering space.

The purpose of this Contribution is to provide funding to help the community enhance their security infrastructure by conducting a security assessment, providing security training for staff and volunteers, as well as purchasing and installing bollards, fencing and gates, surveillance cameras and access control, along with training on how to use the newly installed equipment.

Maskwacis Cree Tribal Council will create a "Pathways to Healthy Lifestyles" program that will Focus on holistic health and wellness sessions in all 4 communities. These sessions will include ways to enhance physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellness and will be facilitated by a life skills coach, cultural knowledge keeper and health and wellness coach. Topics will include violence prevention, healthy relationships, personal safety, pro-social activities, language, nutrition and culture activities. Additionally, to help support the communities goals to health and help take a certification course in Search and Rescue.

The purpose of this Contribution is to provide funds for Specific key activities include the purchase and the installation of an exterior and interior CCTV camera systems, an exterior lighting system, new exterior doors, an intercom system and new locking mechanisms.

The purpose of this Contribution is to implement a 60-month multisectoral direct intervention project to mitigate the impact of identified risk factors among at-risk youth (ages 12-30) in the Paqtnkek First Nation community.

This project will identify areas of improvement to foster equity, inclusivity, and diversity within the field of search and rescue for Canadian SAR teams and organizations across Canada, with a target population of women. This will be completed by recruiting a team of researchers, receiving ethics application approval, developing a questionnaire, collecting participant data, analyzing participant data, and providing their findings to SAR organizations through reports, conferences, and webinars. 

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to implement a three-year prevention/intervention plan alongside multi-sectoral community partners to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors among participating children and youth vulnerable for involvement with gun and gang violence.
