The purpose of this Moosomin First Nation Contribution is to implement a 58-month project aiming to revitalize traditional crime-prevention methods and integrate them with contemporary techniques at the community level to enhance community safety and address socio-economic challenges.

Canada Task Force 2 (CANTF-2) will continue to invest in the development and maintenance of the skills, equipment and experience required to respond to large-scale incidents in Alberta and across Canada. Working alongside partners across the country and across the Search and Rescue (SAR) Continuum, CANTF2 will continue building a robust Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) response network that is aligned, coordinated, consistent, and ready to respond when needed.

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to develop a comprehensive gun and gang strategy/initiative with plans for the creation of a stakeholder committee and community consultations to create a multi-year prevention/intervention plan aimed at decreasing gun and gang activity in the City of Saskatoon.

This project's goal is to replace a cube van ensuring rapid team deployment, and to provide mandatory training and certification to its members in Canada Task Force 3 (CANTF-3). Acquiring a new, larger vehicle will allow movement and storage of larger loads of equipment and provide a means of refrigeration capabilities for the team and the affected community. This refrigeration vehicle could be used as a temporary morgue under extreme conditions. The project will deliver communications, search, medical, logistics and planning training to the structural collapse team members. 

The Purpose of this Contribution is to provide funding to help the community enhance their security infrastructure by purchasing and installing security window glass, fence and gate, security barriers, an access control system, a CCTV system, lighting, a video intercom system, hiring time-limited security personnel, and response training.

To help maintain the capabilities of Canada’s HUSAR Task Forces, this project will support the continued classification maintenance of Canada Task Force–1 (CAN-TF1), based in Vancouver, British Columbia, as a heavy urban search and rescue and all-hazards response team. CAN-TF1 will achieve this by maintaining required skill sets; obtaining and maintaining essential equipment and facilities; completing the training requirements of the Task Force’s 12 special teams; participating in a full-scale deployment exercise; and attending monthly meetings with PS and other Task Forces. These efforts will ensure the Task Force is effectively equipped to respond to disasters, increase interoperability between HUSAR teams, and improve capabilities for efficient, effective, and coordinated emergency response.

CANTF-5 will assess the current state of program development across all aspects of disaster response to identify gaps and apply program management, training, and equipment improvements to build operational readiness. The team will also work to build a resilient response capability by training members to prepare for regional hazards and respond to heavy urban search and rescue disasters.
