About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

The purpose of this contribution is to enhance the security of the community by purchasing and installing a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera system, an access control system and an intrusion detection system, which will aid in the reduction and mitigation of the harm caused by potential incidents of hate-motivated crime against the cemetery and its members. The contractor will also provide training on how to use the new security equipment. As a result of this project, the population that uses the facility will feel safer from hate-motivated incidents/crimes.

Bimose Tribal Council Member Communities Search and Rescue Equipment

This project will bolster the Bimose Tribal Council's commitment to supporting Search and Rescue(SAR) in remote areas, to enhance prevention, preparation, and response capabilities in ten First Nation communities. The equipment and training will contribute to prevention and preparedness measures, including practicing and refining SAR strategies to ensure SAR teams are well-prepared. This project will be overseen by the Emergency Management Coordinator at Bimose Tribal Council, who will distribute equipment and coordinate training for the Tribal Council's member communities. Engagement and promotion activities will be conducted by Bimose Tribal Council throughout their Fire Smart and Fire Prevention events to ensure adequate participation in the proposed project.

The purpose of this project is to increase the capacity of Pelican Lake community members by building their own judicial department with qualified staff to provide reintegration supports, restorative measures, alternatives to incarceration and above all promote and enhance the protection and safety of their community members. The expected outcomes of the project is to develop a Wholistic Restorative Action Prevention Plan that is deeply rooted in traditions and can be applied and modified to suit each individual needs.
