The Canada Graduate Scholarships-Doctoral (CGS D) Program provides financial support to outstanding eligible students pursuing doctoral studies in a Canadian university. These prestigious scholarships aim to develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel by supporting students who demonstrate a high standard of scholarly achievement in undergraduate and graduate studies.

The SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships support the most promising Canadian new scholars in the social sciences and humanities and assists them in establishing a research base at an important time in their research careers.

The Research on Research Joint Initiative, a partnership between SSHRC, the Canadian Insitutes of Heath Research and Michael Smith Health Research BC, aims to increase capacity for metaresearch (research on research) in the Canadian research community context, and to forge connections between Canadian metaresearchers (researchers on research) and the broader RoRI community.

The Partnerships Engage Grants provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector. The small-scale, stakeholder-driven partnerships supported through these grants are meant to respond to immediate needs and time constraints facing organizations in non-academic sectors. In addressing an organization-specific need, challenge and/or opportunity, these partnerships let non-academic organizations and postsecondary researchers access each other’s unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities on topics of mutual interest.
