In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

This 60-month project will develop, implement and test a community-based and culturally-relevant advocacy model based on response-based practice to support, respond and restore dignity and safety of Indigenous GBV survivors in northern and remote Kaska communities in Yukon and Northern British Columbia. The organization will engage GBV survivor advocates to raise awareness on related issues in their communities and offer peer support and referrals to other GBV survivors in order to improve their access to appropriate response and support services.

Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the launch of a new online fundraising platform, the development of a new fundraising strategy and related communication tools, and the creation of a 5-year organizational strategic plan.
The 2023 supplemental funding will permit the organization to develop and implement a human resources retention strategy and increase staff capacity to provide trauma-informed care.

The 2023 supplemental funding will be used to develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies and implement processes and systems to improve performance measurement and evaluation.

This 57-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow Huronia Transition Homes to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the development of a long-term sustainable financial plan that includes a social enterprise model; a comprehensive redesign of internal financial reporting systems; and the implementation of a program evaluation structure.
The supplemental funding will be used for an anti-racism audit, as well as the shift to an electronic client management database for increased internal efficiency and analytics. The supplementary funds in 2023 will be used by the organization to a) develop implementation plans for existing social enterprise strategies, b) revise the organization’s by-laws and c) to improve their results-based management framework, including program evaluation through the development of theory of change and logic models.

Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the development of a strategic plan, operational plan, women’s equality framework, training plan and evaluation tool, a partnership and donor development strategy, and organizational policies, procedures and best practices. Activities will include research, development, monitoring, testing and adoption of recommendations and tools, which will be integrated and implemented through all levels of the organization from the Board of Directors to staff, to enhance community outreach and impact across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
The 2023 supplementary funds will be used to develop a five year succession plan for the overall organization including a succession plan framework and handbook for the Executive Director’s position.

Organizational capacity will be enhanced through an in-depth organizational evaluation; strategic planning; and strengthening of the Board of Directors’ capacity to develop strategies relating to fundraising, administration and initiatives.
The 2023 supplemental funding will be used to: 1) support their transition from a non-profit to a charitable organization (including a sustainability plan); 2) strengthen human resources (providing training and succession planning); and 3) strengthen women-led and community-based initiatives in collaboration with sector coalitions and partners.

The additional funds will be used to create evaluative tools to bolster results-based management efforts, to strengthen internal leadership capacity in the areas of fundraising and the use of social media, to collaborate with other stakeholders in building a gender-inclusion plan for gender-queer communities and to build capacity for collective action efforts within the community and with other agencies.

Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the following activities: development and implementation of a strategic plan to enhance organizational financial health, increase board governance capacity, and build partnerships for increased collaboration. These activities will strengthen the organization’s ability to support the well-being and prosperity of Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit, and gender-diverse people across Manitoba.
