About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

(WEST) to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. This will be achieved through a transition to a computer-based case management system, along with the creation of an enhanced communications strategy and language training to improve overall accessibility, and with the development of recreational opportunities for newcomer children to use technology when learning through play.

Feminists Deliver

This 3-month project will encourage greater impact around Women Deliver through the planning and delivery of a complimentary and concurrent Feminists Deliver Conference. The four-day Conference will reflect the experiences of Indigenous women and girls and explore intersectional, structural and systemic barriers affecting women and people of non-binary genders. Battered Women’s Support Services is the leading organization in the Feminists Deliver Working Group, a grassroots collaboration of 40 women-led not-for-profit organizations. Conference programming will showcase local community-based responses to advancing gender equality, will include 45 panelists and five keynote speakers, and will link featured workshops and discussion to themes from Women Deliver.

This 3-month project will encourage greater impact around Women Deliver through the delivery of Nutsamaht, a one-day pre-conference event focused on engagement of the diverse perspectives, strengths, and identities, expressions, and abilities of Indigenous women and gender-non binary individuals. Through engagement sessions, cultural celebrations, and community visits to each of the three host Nations, Nutsamaht will feature 30 speakers and 500 participants, and takes a strengths-based approach to identify solutions that improve the accessibility, quality, sustainability, and accountability of Indigenous wellness in Canada.

Supplemental funding will be used to hire external specialists to perform a community needs assessment, assist with the development of a long-term financial plan and technical support to roll out a full technology plan for staff.

The supplementary funds will be used for completing the organizational case management system and staffing to assist in the transition to online services while ensuring staff are properly trained to use all the features of the organizational case management system.
