This 20-month project will build Girl Guides of Canada’s capacity to advance gender equality by addressing accessibility barriers to its services for girls across the country and meet the demand. The organization will undertake a digital transformation to facilitate volunteer engagement and assess its current organizational structure to ensure it supports the achievement of its strategic priorities. In addition, it will examine the impacts of its programming on girls and women across the country and use research results to improve their experience. Lastly, the organization will diversify its revenue sources and develop a strategy to engage its alumni as possible volunteers and donors to support its growth and financial sustainability.

Through this 20-month project, Manitoba Women for Women of South Sudan Inc. will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the specific needs of low-income, racialized women, with particular emphasis on Black women and newcomers, particularly as they progress toward gender equality, improving access to services tailored to their unique needs, and removing barriers to their integration into Canadian society, the workforce, and social participation. The project will include integration of GBA+ Tools and principles in strategic planning, while working to enhance communication, financial management and resource mobilization. This project will also include improving community mobilization through talent attraction and enhancing relationships and partnerships with both new and existing stakeholders.

Through this 20-month project, Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter Society will conduct research that will help improve GBV services for at-risk groups. It will address the knowledge gap regarding brain injuries resulting from Intimate-Partner Violence (IPV) in the 2SLGBTQ+ communities to support the alignment of services with community-identified priorities, needs, and practices. To do so, the project will conduct community-based research with a mixed methods approach to determine the frequency and scope of IPV-caused brain injuries in the 2SLGBTQ+ communities, host a world-café style event with survivors and service providers to examine barriers and facilitators to service, and develop recommendations to improve supports for survivors. Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter Society will develop a knowledge dissemination plan to share information on the research findings.

Through this 20-month project, Let Her Talk Society (LHT) will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address the need for LHT to have formalized and explicit organizational policies and internal systems, and to allow LHT to compile a handbook with organizational policies and processes, and learnings from capacity-building trainings. The project will include an internal review of policies, external consultations and research, drafting and revision of policies, and training activities.

Through this 20-month project, THS Society of Transition Houses will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will address an identified need to incorporate Indigenous member voices in how Board decisions are made, how the organization operates and how strategic plans are created as a non-Indigenous organization. The project will include assessing the Board’s governance through the consultation with Indigenous and non-Indigenous members as well as stakeholders, ultimately improving the Society’ governance, operations, and strategic priorities.

Through this 20-month project, Saffron Centre Ltd will build its capacity to advance gender equality. It will facilitate staff and board alignment on a new strategic plan which supports a vision toward safe communities free from sexual violence and it will address inefficient training systems within the organization. The project will include the development of a new five-year Strategic Plan and the creation of a new technology-based system for training all volunteers and employees. The new Strategic Plan will ensure the organization goals and activities align with its vision. The technology-based system for training employees and volunteers will facilitate an inclusive and consistent approach which is scalable, sustainable, and efficient.

Through this 12-month capacity building project, YWCA Prince Albert Inc. aims to advance gender equality by strengthening their capacity at the technological level. The project will enhance their IT infrastructure by strengthening IT expertise, streamlining data management, and enhancing scalability. Through consultations with IT professionals; conducting a needs assessment; modernizing data systems; tracking progress and preparing for sustainability YWCA will empower their organization and their staff to operate more effectively, securely, and inclusively in their mission to support women, youth and other vulnerable community members.

Through this 20-month project, Femmes VEE will build its capacity to advance women’s equality. It will address integrating an intersectional perspective into the organization’s tools and practices and updating management and development tools. The project will include adapting human resource bylaws and policies, developing tracking tools and evaluating the organization’s activities, creating a five-year strategic plan and developing a strategy for a fundraiser.

Through this 20-month capacity building project, Central Alberta Immigrant Women's Association aims to advance gender equality by strengthening their capacity at the technological level. The project will include hiring project staff and an Enterprise Systems consultant to analyze the existing IT system; gathering data from system users and key stakeholders to inform system design; designing and developing an enhanced system; and conducting testing, implementation, and training.

At the end of these activities, Central Alberta Immigrant Women's Association will have improved their IT systems, knowledge, and efficiencies to support their commitment to the attainment of social, economic and cultural inclusion of immigrant women and their families in Central Alberta.

Through this 20-month project, Daughters of Zion Women Foundation will build its capacity to advance gender equality. This project will focus on addressing non-profit sector gaps by integrating technology for organizational efficiency, meeting increased demands, and maximizing initiative impact. Key activities include conducting a needs assessment and technology gap analysis, developing a technology roadmap, providing training for skill development, integrating and optimizing technology, piloting technology projects, and conducting thorough performance monitoring and evaluation.
