In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Honouring our women and girls: Walking with the seven sacred teachings

This 21-month project will honor the lives and legacies of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and LGBTQ2S individuals and increase awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and LGBTQ2S individuals. Project activities will include: creating an interactive and educational memorial park for MMIWG, a walking pathway integrating educational stations reflecting the seven sacred teachings and creating awareness.

This 24-month project will increase the recruitment and retention of women in non-traditional skilled trades in New Brunswick through the development and piloting of a Skilled Trades Exploration Program for Women. A gender-based analysis of tools and training will be completed and an evidence-based report, including provincial recommendations for action to address the gap for women in skilled trades, will be shared with the Government of New Brunswick. Additionally, through public-private partnerships with institutional, government and private sector stakeholders, the organization will develop and implement a strategic plan to advance women’s participation in non-traditional skilled trades in the province.

Organizational and Leadership Development in Middlesex County

This 45-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the Women's Rural Resource Centre to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the development of a strategic plan; a human resources, volunteer and donor management infrastructure; and a public education and advocacy strategy. The organization will also strengthen its position as a leader in advancing the women’s movement in rural Ontario through the development and implementation of a co active leadership strategy that will increase the Centre’s leadership and advocacy competencies and engage stakeholders and develop partnership collaborations to mobilize change agents in Middlesex County.
Supplement funding will be used for hiring a videographer to create web-based training materials related to leadership development program.
