To support the federal government’s commitment to maintain a strong and effective publicly funded health care system through investments in emerging and demonstrated innovations in priority areas, such as palliative and end-of-life care, home and community care, mental health care and other federal, provincial-territorial and emerging priorities.

Through the application of national and local priorities, the CSJ program seeks to provide youth, particularly those who face barriers to employment with access to work opportunities. Funded employers must demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills.

This includes access to contraception and family planning, mental health, prevention and treatment of STIs, safe abortion and post-abortion care and access to youth-friendly health services; and (4) providing capacity building training to health care and nutrition center staff including community members on basic emergency care, maternal, infant, and young child nutrition (MIYCN), STI prevention, Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (BEmONC), integrated community case management of common childhood illnesses (ICCM), wash for nutrition, and nutritional screening.

This project aims to address key gender inequality and human rights issues, particularly: harmful social norms regarding gender and sexuality; lack of adequate information on or access to comprehensive SRH services particularly for safe abortion; lack of decision-making power by girls and women regarding their health and sexuality; as well as limited capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) including women’s rights organizations and youth-led organizations to effectively advocate for SRHR at local, national, regional and international levels.

Project activities include: (1) training beneficiaries (adolescents and other marginalized people) to effectively advocate for SRHR legal changes and better implementation of legal services; (2) training community volunteers to increase community awareness about safe abortion and facilitate referrals; and (3) creating meaningful SRHR engagement opportunities for youth at key global events.

Project activities include: (1) training and supporting facilitators and educators to raise awareness on SRHR, which intends to increase uptake of and help safeguard health services during emergencies; (2) developing SRHR training materials for healthcare service providers, including community healthcare workers; (3) providing technical assistance to health systems to review and update abortion guidelines and protocols; (4) training and sensitizing healthcare service providers on gender-responsive and youth friendly services for safe abortion; and (5) providing technical support to women’s rights organizations and youth-led organizations on coordination and mo

These results will be achieved through key project activities: (a) gender-sensitive training of healthcare providers at the puskesmas (health center) level, including on SRHR issues, emergency obstetric and neonatal care, family planning, post-abortion care, female genital care, gender-based violence and nutrition for mothers and girls; (b) creating or rehabilitating infrastructure, e.g. equipping selected puskesmas and creating mobile and satellite clinics for hard-to-reach communities ; (c) capacity-building and support for F&F, including those who are marginalized or vulnerable, in SRHR; (d) gender-sensitive training of community leaders on gender issues, for example by organizing community forums aimed at better dialogue between F&F and local power-holders, or by training religious and traditional leaders; (e) raising awareness of gender issues among boys, men and parents.

This project aims to improve access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services for women and girls in the Philippines. Project activities include: (1) improving the availability and use of comprehensive SRH services in non-profit, community-based clinics; (2) training community health volunteers and teachers to deliver SRH and comprehensive sexual education information in communities and schools; and (3) strengthening women’s rights and community-based organizations and networks to advocate for policies related to SRH financing and comprehensive sexual education at the national and local levels. This project benefits approximately 100,000 individuals, particularly women, girls, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex plus individuals living in disaster-prone and urban-poor communities.
