Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Renovations of the Le Pantoum Cultural Community Centre: energy savings and accessibility
The Pantoum community centre was acquired in July 2022, after 10 years of renting, with two distinct buildings in which activities are offered. The building benefits from a specific zoning bylaw that allows cultural community activities. The renovation aims to enhance the capacity of Le Pantoum community cultural center and includes the integration of universal accessibility standards throughout the facility, as well as the restoration of the elevator, ensuring full access for persons with reduced mobility. This will also allow for the effective and environmental insolation and isolation of all spaces, in order to optimize energetic efficiency, which will also bring the heating and ventilation systems up to energy-efficient codes.

Going Green in 2023
Their project's nature is twofold. First, in making what are necessary renovations, to undertake them in an energy wise fashion and next, while achieving the former, to create a more accessible and inviting atmosphere, thereby allowing the Centre to effectively serve more people. Their specific means in working to achieve these objectives presently focus in three areas: 1. the installation of a new refrigeration system which will utilize significant green energy and carbon reductions measures. 2. the placement of solar panels as their primary energy source. Together, both will lead to greater efficiency and significantly reduced utility rates and will also be part of a net-zero objective. Finally, a series of building renovations will assist with greater accessibility for an increased number of people.

Lytton Fire and Emergency Services Centre
The proposed facility will safely store firefighting equipment, provide a training space, and include an Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). RFA Response - Newfoundland and Labrador Deployment (SARVAC)
26219
The province of Newfoundland and Labrador requested federal assistance in response to the wildfire situation. This request led to the deployment of Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada (SARVAC) responders under the Humanitarian Workforce (HWF) program. Their role was to support safety and travel management, evacuations, wellness checks, and security efforts in response to increasing capacity demands caused by high summer temperatures, overlapping displacement events, and a dynamic wildfire response situation.
