This 9 month project supports the comprehensive recovery of the population affected by the wildfires in Valparaiso, Chile. Project activities include: (1) improving a comprehensive psychosocial support program for personnel involved in the fire response; (2) strengthening the capacity of local health workers to deliver a coordinated response of mental health and psychosocial support interventions with an intercultural approach; (3) improving the capacity of national authorities to implement differentiated mental health and psychosocial support in emergencies (MHPSS) interventions for outreach, psychoeducation communication and community engagement with a focus on gender equality; and(4) improving the technical capacity of local health professionals and health authorities to manage and develop strategic information systems for MHPSS interventions.

The project advances the Government of Canada commitment to plant an incremental two billion trees by March 31, 2031, to tackle the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.

Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program - MARP - Events

The purpose of this Security Infrastructure Agreement is to provide funding to help the community enhance their security infrastructure, which would then lead to an increase in community safety. Overall activities include the implementation of measures that will contribute to preventing hate crimes. Specific key activities include conducting a security assessment, purchase and installation of CCTV cameras and accessories, and upgraded locks.

The research will evaluate PIPEDA and proposed Canadian privacy and AI legislation for their fitness to govern the use of Emotional AI used with children, highlighting gaps and offering suggestions where appropriate.

10th Annual Aboriginal/Indigenous Veterans Feast-"Honoring Our Aboriginal Female Veterans" Hometown Heroines

Through this 21-month systemic change project, National Association of Women and the Law (NAWL) will scale the foundational work of their “Rebuilding Feminist Law Reform Capacity: Substantive Equality in the Law-Making Process” and "Adapting and Accelerating Intersectional Feminist Law Reform for a Post-COVID-19 Future" projects to advance women's economic security and prosperity as well as representation in leadership and decision-making roles in relation to law making and law reform. It will scale out NAWL's priority law reform areas with a new focus on championing legislative reforms related to women's economic prosperity and security, and ensuring that policies account for the unique challenges faced by low-income, racialized women, and those living with disabilities. It will scale the engagement of feminist and equity-seeking groups in legislative processes advocating for a more gendered and intersectional approach to socio-economic law-making. It will also scale the Chanterelle Alliance for Feminist Law Reform by enhancing its internal capacity to be more active, engaged, and coordinated in order to expand its membership in terms of geographic and intersectional reach, as well as its efforts, resources, and campaigns. Through these strategic efforts, NAWL will contribute to the development of gender-responsive socio-economic laws that are comprehensive, inclusive, and focused on achieving systemic change for all Canadian women across Canada.
