Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Multi-use pathway along Highway 139 between De l’Horizon and Saint-Hubert streets in Granby
This project involves the construction of a new 3.75-m wide multi-use pathway (for cycling, walking, in-line skating, etc.), on the north side of Highway 139, between De l’Horizon street to the east and Simonds street north to the west. It was agreed that the City would be responsible for construction of the pathway following the road-widening work. The City of Granby will also apply for funding to add a pathway between De l’Horizon Street to the east of the project and Dufferin street to the west to serve a residential area with an active mobility link.

McIntyre Traffic Calming
"McIntyre Drive Traffic Calming Project will transform the neighbourhood corridor into a safe, multi-modal transportation showpiece, complementing the evolution of the adjacent Kwanlin Dün First Nation (KDFN) land uses. The road corridor is owned and operated by the City of Whitehorse, and is located fully within KDFN settlement land.
The key components of the draft design include enlarged curb extensions at select intersections to narrow the driving right of way and reduce pedestrian crossing distances, curb extensions to provide transit stop facilities and improve transit accessibility, new zebra pavement markings at key crossing locations, 1.2 km of new protected cycle lanes (1.2 km on each side of the roadway) with marked cross-rides at intersections and accesses, installation of 50 concrete wheelchair and bike ramps, and 1.2 km of new sidewalk with barrier curb to increase pedestrian connectivity and safety. A lighting evaluation and design will improve illumination within the corridor."

Connect-Hers: Women Veterans Supporting Women Veterans
Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness across Canada will have increased support through the Program. This is accomplished by providing direct funding to communities and mobilizing collaborators at the federal, provincial/territorial and community levels, as well as the private and voluntary sectors, to address barriers to well-being faced by Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness, through two funding streams: the Services and Supports Stream and the Capacity Building Stream.
