As part of the international consortium project [AI4PE], this project will focus on the development of an ultrasonic method and algorithms based on artificial intelligence for nondestructive evaluation of electrofusion joints in construction of gas and water polyethylene pipelines, resulting in the design of a prototype device for practical use in field condition.

International Co-Innovation Action Program (ICAP) project - Voltai is a clean energy company that harvest wave energy onboard marine vessels. They plan co-innovation as a mechanism to increase their speed to market, reduce barriers to commercialization and reach a larger market.

Altheda is working to develop a novel, patent protected natural product for brain health, formulated with locally sourced marine ingredients. The research we are undertaking is to evaluate and identify compounds for an improved formulation of an imported ingredient, developed as a co-product from marine waste.

The firm's main goal is to reduce GHG emissions by optimizing energy usage in buildings and enhancing the integration Virtual Power Plants (VPP). The focus of this software is the development of the VPP software platform which will enable buildings to reduce peak energy loads through Automated Demand Response (ADR) technology. This in turn allows buildings to participate in DR programs to help stabilize the grid and minimize peak-time energy consumption. This project will focus on the development and testing of innovative AI/ML algorithm to monitor and manage building energy environments. These algorithms will be tested within a modern lab environment at NAIT in preparation for commercialization.

This project focuses on building an AI-powered assistant chatbot designed to enhance the efficiency of sales agents by streamlining their workflow and providing quick access to relevant information. The assistant will leverage a large language model (LLM) to act as a virtual assistant, helping sales agents with product details, customer inquiries, and other administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on strategic interactions with customers.

Natural Language inherently contains ambiguities which often leads to inaccurate interpretations. While humans possess innate reasoning capabilities and access to vast reservoirs of knowledge to aid in clarification, intelligent machines face limitations in these areas. Knowledge-aware Compute Efficient Agents (KACE) addresses this challenge by leveraging complex reasoning abilities through the integration of information from diverse knowledge sources. Coupled with efficient tools, KACE facilitates Natural Language Understanding (NLU) of text, enabling non-technical business users to reliably and accurately query the data they need for critical in-the-moment decision making.

There is an urgent need to identify new therapeutic approaches for pain. The company has discovered a non-opioid based regulatory mechanism that provides potent pain relief. The company has validated its’ proprietary compounds on this new pain therapy target and the current project will concentrate on the chemical synthesis and biological validation studies to identify and develop back-up compounds as a risk mitigation strategy for the lead compounds currently in development.

The project will experimenting with data architecture pipes to train AI systems. The project develop a prototype of a product that will ultimately assists dietitians in better managing the needs of their community's residents.

The Project will support pilot deployment of DeepMSI based AI models into clinical environment, optimize compute architecture that will help speed up the analysis of real time data, improve quantification of DryAMD disease biomarkers including drusen, pigment and GA.
