The purpose of this CanExport Innovation agreement is to support Canadian organizations to carry out activities related to pursuing opportunities that would lead to establishing new collaborative Research and Development (R&D) partnerships between the Recipient and foreign organizations in order to support R&D on the Recipient’s technology and advance its commercialization.

The firm has developed a proprietary circular shower technology that saves up to 80% water and 80% energy while providing a strong flow rate of 3 GPM through point-of-use recirculation and real-time cleaning. The firm looks to broaden its business operations to deploy more active systems into market. The purpose of this youth employment program candidate is to support the firm in bringing more awareness, technical support and business revenues.

Advances exploratory research under the New Beginnings Initiative

The project aims to further establish WellFish Tech’s approach to evaluating fish health status in aquaculture and wild fish populations, in North America. A key aim of the project is to investigate the effects of sampling and shipping method on assays and resulting data. In addition, the student will aid in the evaluation of novel species which are important ecological and farmed species through Canada. Furthermore, the graduate’s knowledge of fish nutrition will significantly aid WellFish Tech in exploring the complex relationships of health status relating to nutrition.

Deco is an SaaS ERP system that provides comprehensive management solutions for insurance claims. Tailored for insurance companies, adjusters, brokers, and self-insured clients, it streamlines processes from basic auto claims to intricate specialty and commercial cases. Deco simplifies workflows, enhances analytics and reporting, facilitates predictive learning, and optimizes data aggregation and filtering. We are already see major improvements to claims processing in its current versions and hoping to see greater improvements in the future by reducing cycle times, identifying fraud trends, and empowering users with precise insights, and enabling more informed and efficient business decisions.

Exergy is an innovation engineering firm focused on the development and advancement of clean technologies through the technology readiness levels. Using fundamental scientific principles we are able to offer the following: performing technical due diligence, evaluation and validation of novel clean technologies, design and build technology pilots and demonstration units, perform technoeconomic assessments of competing technology options, and develop decarbonization strategy for industrial facilities. The candidate will be directly involved in the delivery of these projects with a focus on performing technology research, gathering of cost and performance data, developing financial models, and working on consulting deliverables.

Javelin Sports is designing product with new features such as in-product messaging, group creation and management system, and personalized recommendations that help users discover and maximize the value of their own city’s volleyball network. These features encourage virality and improve Javelin’s network work effect, where existing users naturally invite and onboard new users through sharing, referrals, helping Javelin grow outside of Toronto.

The overall objective of the research project is to accelerate CoLab’s R&D efforts across a number of key focus areas, including web-based viewing of engineering data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, Model Based Definition (MBD) and Model Based Systems
Engineering (MBSE).
