The purpose of the Indigenous Habitat Participation Program- Grant Funding is to meet the legal obligations to support the participation of Indigenous communities in consultations on Departmental Crown conduct (i.e., decisions, such as arrangements, approvals, authorizations and permits) under the Fisheries Act and/or Species at Risk Act.

The FPBC conference provides forest professionals with a one-stop opportunity to earn professional development credits and is key to supporting FPBC mission of protecting the public interest by ensuring BC has competent forest professionals. The 2025 conference is scheduled for February 5-7 at the Victoria Conference Centre in Victoria and is planned as a hybrid event offering opportunities to participate either in-person or virtually. The 2025 conference will feature a combination of plenary and breakout sessions with a focus on the interconnectivity of all aspects of forest managements and land-use planning. Indigenous perspectives on forest management are incorporated throughout the conference sessions.

This project is to increase Ontario Police Service capacity to combat child exploitation in Ontario. This project will allow them to hire additional resources and a special investigation unit to identify the target organization and online networks of criminals.

To support public education and awareness activities

Through this 28-month project, FrancoQueer will address the needs and barriers to equality for 2SLGBTQI+ communities. This will be achieved by (1) undertaking a community-based research on the root causes of hate towards 2SLGBTQIA+ people, the methods used to spread it, and the needs of service providers in targeted sectors (health, education, media) to address it; (2) developing the skills of service providers offering services in French in Ontario to ensure the delivery of inclusive services to francophone 2SLGBTQIA+ folks; (3) demystifying misinformation and prejudice among the general public and strengthening the capacity of francophone 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Ontario to assert their rights; and (4) conducting a project evaluation.

To achieve this, the project will develop a new strategic plan, a guidance document, and strategies for action based on Gender-Based Analysis Plus, and will formulate strategies to support strong community work by the organization.

The proposed R&D pilot project aims to develop a generative AI solution to reduce the time required for generating item equivalency evaluations by design and procurement engineers by 20% compared to the current average. By leveraging advanced AI models trained on historical evaluation data, the project seeks to automate and streamline the evaluation process of critical characteristics on components in the nuclear power facility.

Development of Official Language Communities Program - Community Life

The project will gather feedback from resource users on their specific needs for translated and self-help materials and enhance the existing tenancy law website and resources to better support tenants in Alberta.

Canada faces an escalating housing crisis that demands a paradigm shift in our approach to the production of housing. The way we build today is plagued by challenges including labour shortages, lack of innovation, weak internal systems, poor quality and high carbon emissions. The Epok System is a new industrialized construction system that assembles homes faster, cheaper and greener. By using automation and robotics, industrially manufactured building components and on-site assembly, we take an assembly-line approach to housing. This project is focused on the product catalogue - sourcing, testing and creating an innovative, curated catalogue of standardized, prefabricated components for a reliable productized supply chain.
