This project will allow the candidate to gain valuable experience in business and marketing in a biotechnology/cleantech company.

Yellowbird Diagnostics will hire a co-op graduate as a Quality Assurance (QA) associate to support internal R&D activities focused on development and manufacturing.

This project will support knowledge transfer and technology adoption by translating the platform’s emerging data and analytics capabilities into practical business applications.

Over the past two years, the Department of Research and Innovation at Georgian College has collaborated with 13 industry partners to assess technology readiness and conduct feasibility studies that support early-stage innovation. Through these projects, the team has worked with partners to evaluate technical feasibility, refine concepts, and develop prototype pathways that move promising technologies closer to commercialization. This work has enabled industry partners to reduce the risk of innovation activities while providing students with meaningful applied research opportunities.

This project will enable Innovate BC to facilitate the provision of strategic, one-to-one Level 1 (L1) - IP Awareness sessions, and development of a Level 1 (L2) comprehensive IP strategy for IRAP SMEs, in order to increase their business success and to increase IP capabilities in Canada.

The youth engineer will complete activities to design a handheld battery-powered impact tool for manufacturing. The project scope is to take an existing prototype, work with partners to engineer it for manufacturing, conduct tests, and obtain the required certifications to get the tool ready for commercialization.

This project is to support the development of APEC’s Non-Equilibrium Plasma assisted raw syngas upgrading torch technologies. The technology acts directly and efficiently on tar-laden syngas, deconvoluting tars into simple organic molecules at about half the cost and power input of leading alternatives.

This project is focused on developing AI-enabled technology that derives insights from unstructured language data (text and audio to retain operational knowledge, speed up manual or cumbersome processes, and improve data quality for future AI analysis.

This project will advance ApexRMS’s Canadian Wildfire Hazard Data product from its current prototype state to a validated, repeatable, and commercially deployable annual subscription offering MVP. The product is designed to deliver national property-level wildfire hazard maps for Canada using ApexRMS’s existing SyncroSim/BurnP3+ modelling platform.

This project will see further development & testing of the Plasmergy system and will start the scale-up design for the indiscriminate conversion of clinical waste and other targeted feedstocks, into low-carbon energy and benign solid residues or commercially viable products. Building on the data and capital assets developed in the Phase 1 project, funded by the PEI Cleantech Research & Innovation Fund, this project will progress the technical and commercial ambitions of Plasmergy PEI, yielding critical operational data and conceptual engineering/design documentation required to underpin fundraising/capital investment for the first 1000tpa commercial plant to be built in phase 3.
