Funding will support research and development to address National Defence’s Challenge: North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Modernization Science & Technology (S&T) Contest. Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) and its defence and security partners seek to advance capabilities in five key areas: quantum technologies; autonomous systems; counter-uncrewed aerial systems (CUAS); Arctic mobility and navigation of military platforms; and energy solutions that are scalable, efficient, and sustainable for current and future Arctic operations. The initiative targets critical science and technology gaps in threat detection, situational awareness, decision support, and operational effectiveness to strengthen continental defence and support NORAD modernization.

Qikiqtaaluk Corporation will obtain and install mapping equipment for the Moses Appaqaq Vessel and a portable mapping equipment system to be used on local vessel's around Nunavut.

GeoMate is hiring a recent graduate Cartographer through the IRAP New Graduate Program to enhance its geospatial mapping capabilities. The project focuses on developing high-accuracy 3D maps for autonomous driving (AD), urban planning, and simulation applications. The new hire will support GIS data processing, aerial imagery analysis, and vector map creation, contributing to AI-driven mapping solutions.

Using cutting-edge deep learning techniques and multimodal large language models, the platform will analyze 3D OCT scans to detect retinal diseases and conditions.

AI Mechanic is an enterprise-grade AI-powered assistant designed to help technicians diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain trucks and heavy equipment. By leveraging deep learning and a structured knowledge base, it provides step-by-step repair guidance, predictive maintenance insights, and real-time fault analysis to improve service efficiency and reduce downtime.

The project will focus on accessing the market demand and feasibility of this technology for the use case.

The purpose of this CanExport SMEs agreement is to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for activities related to export market development that are part of an export business case for a specific target market, particularly where activities are targeting departmental priority markets and sectors.

This project will involve development of a functioning AI/ML engine into an existing prototype software to enable integration of combined 2D and 3D image capture for standardized dental data record-taking.

The project will engage a newly hired Mechanical Engineering Technician working full-time over a 12-month period to test, refine, and optimize HYGN’s linear motor design for large-scale production. Leveraging 3D modeling and stainless-steel materials, the technician will focus on improving size, weight, and manufacturability while ensuring structural integrity and performance consistency.

As part of the international consortium project “PHRESH: Patient Health Response in Emergent and Secure Habitats for Connected Healthcare," this project will show the impact of connected care on rural and remote communities and demonstrate RWI’s capacity to model, analyze, and visualize health attributes, disease states, connected care networks, and connected device deployments. RWI will map a selection of disease states into rural and remote Synthetic Populations with enough fidelity to enable the optimization of medical device deployment within communities and populations.
