WellFish Tech is a company which focuses on the assessment of fish health and welfare via non destructive sampling of fish. Based on a comprehensive data bank we aim to develop models for Canadian aquaculture which can lead to the application of AI in the industry to improve fish health and welfare.

Adaptis is a software solution for automating and optimizing building adaption project  (renovation, retrofitting, adaptive reuse, etc.) and material reuse planning. It enables existing building owners, designers, and engineers to make informed decisions to decarbonize their existing buildings and lower costs. Our platform analyzes existing building conditions, generates automated material salvage value and deconstruction planning, adaptation feasibility design options, and optimizes environmental and economic performance decision-making.

GBatteries has invented and demonstrated Active Battery Management System, powered by machine learning, to enable ultra-fast charging of Li-ion batteries with minimized degradation. GBatteries is on a mission to accelerate global mass adoption of electric vehicles to reduced oil dependency, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and enable alternative transportation options.

The specific project objectives are to develop and demonstrate the most superior, high energy dense Li-metal battery, with currently available Li-metal active materials, liquid electrolyte and GBatteries Active Battery Management System control, enabling a real and practical ultra-fast charge, lower cost, long life, and safety.

Past blended learning efficacy research has demonstrated a clear benefit for skill acquisition and retention in domains such as aviation, medicine, and academics; however, no research has specifically examined outcomes related to safety and survival training in the offshore context. Therefore, the primary goal of this project is to continue exploring the effectiveness of blended learning (digital content for theory combined with practical evaluation) in the context of offshore safety and survival training.

Automated analyzers are one of the main diagnostic platforms in Canada and other developed nations. In line with this market trend, DBC will transfer vital diagnostic hormone assays, a field in which it is a global market leader, from a microplate-based platform to higher throughput automated systems.

This project aims to improve the current product design. There are a number of design issues that require significant development to increase operational effectiveness. This hire will be a key component of the design team.

The organisation's staff will engage Canadian SME’s interested in developing new technologies for use in aquaculture and provide early stage, proof-of-concept research and consultation to determine the feasibility of the new products/assays for the aquaculture market. This proof-of-concept work will be key to determining the likelihood of commercial success for new technologies.
