The overarching goal (purpose) is to support enhancements in marine safety and marine environmental protection in Canadian waters, while embracing the concepts of codevelopment and sustainable economic development. The objectives are to enhance the capacity and facilitate the participation of partners and stakeholders in support of marine safety and marine environmental protection.

The Unsheltered Homelessness and Encampments Initiative will address unsheltered homelessness and encampments by providing funding and coordinating with other orders of government to increase housing supply, affordability, and improve access to vital services. To accomplish this, Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada is working with provinces, territories and municipalities on the delivery of this initiative to maximize alignment, select communities and confirm commitments to support and fund community-level efforts.

The Project will accelerate the rate at which the NRC’s Lipoprotein lipase deficiency (LPLD) AAV-based gene therapy technology is GMP manufactured and readied for testing in the clinic, by formally combining the efforts, experience and expertise of the National Research Council and the Biotherapeutics Manufacturing Centre- Virus Manufacturing Facility (BMC-VMF) at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). The project will result in the finalization of upstream and downstream process parameters leading to the execution of a non-GMP run of the complete, finalized process. Importantly, this non-GMP run will generate material that is suitable and required for a pivotal GLP toxicology study while serving to validate the feasibility of the overall process (at reduced scale) at the BMC

This contribution supports the Indigenous-led Cultural and Ecological Corridor from Southern to Central Vancouver Island project through communications, outreach and engagement, mapping, research, workshops, corridor planning, restoration, and annual gatherings. This project builds on the legacy of the Indigenous-led West Coast Stewardship Corridor established in 2020 and initiated by a regional gathering hosted by the Yuułuʔiłatḥ Government and will engage with a broader suite of Nations while aligning with the Westcoast IPCA Support Program.

Create economic growth opportunities in the Riel District in Winnipeg, MB

This project will fund the construction of a new police facility in Taykwa Tagamou Nation and the procurement of all necessary furniture, fixtures and equipment for the delivery of police services from the facility to the community. The facility will improve the delivery of professional, dedicated and responsible policing services. In addition, police officers and the occupants of the facility will have a safe environment once the new detachment has been built.

This project will allow community youth to reconnect to their cultural teachings, provide skills that will build their sense of self, as well as provide awareness sessions on the risks of gang life. As a result of this project, the community expects a reduction in gang entrance and violence.

The project will build new infrastructure in Taykwa Tagamou First Nation. The new facility will improve the delivery of professional, dedicated and responsive policing services. In addition, police officers and the occupants will have a safe environment to live in, once the detachment has been built.
