Sigma Eight Inc. is developing a sub gram transmitter for use in wildlife tracking. Current transmitters available on the market today have static programming, and do not have much flexibility in terms of emission interval, protocol, and duty cycle. By utilizing modern microelectronic components, we aim to reduce the package size while maintaining the programmable flexibility of our larger transmitters. This innovation allows for the tracking of juvenile animals and support novel research on climate change, applying the advancements we achieved with larger tags to a more compact transmitter.

For this project, our goal is to open up CoHost’s prefix offering to the larger market of professional podcasters so they can use our data to help grow and monetize their shows. The key challenges we hope to address are: ensuring the data we provide to our users is actionable for podcasters to grow their audience base or send to sponsors, and making our data easily digestible for anyone who is reading it so the value of the podcast audience is clearly articulated. We also plan to build supplementary features to our demographic data to help professional podcasters better gauge listener engagement and connect with advertisers.
