Phase 3 of the amaranth commercialization project includes the following elements:

1) Implementation of recyclable flow wrap material and product packaging in preparation for Q1-2025 product launch.
2) Increase scale of amaranth popping system for higher scale production.
3) Purchase, implementation and training of new semi-automated Selmi cluster machine.
4) Completion of 2024 field trial testing of amaranth at Luna Mia farm near Owen Sound, with focus on varietal of seeds, harvesting, cleaning and drying techniques in preparation for scaling to approximately 10 acres in 2025 of local sustainable agriculture. Project objective will include trial testing of harvest technology, cleaning and drying processes, and use of cover crops.

Development and adoption of tools for conservation area planning, ecological monitoring, science communication, and community outreach and education initiatives.

Proteins from precision fermentation will become a transformative industry that has the potential displace animal agriculture. This project aims to develop a Canadian protein leader through the creation of efficient, low-cost fermentation bioprocesses that can run on existing food manufacturing facilities.

The Organization will engage NRC eligible firms to address core go-to-market and business process challenges that limit their success. Eligible firms will be for-profit, incorporated within Canada, and employing fewer than 500 employees. . For the purposes of this agreement, NRC will refer, or otherwise approve, all firms that engage with the Organization to receive services.

This project involves the scale up and optimization of feedstock and culture bioprocessing, fermentation process optimization and downstream purity of ALT TEX's process.

The Project’s objective is to establish and refine advanced Li-ion methodologies that are amenable to high-throughput experimentation (HTE), along with enhancing capabilities, with the explicit goal of accelerating the experimentation process in the realms of lithium-ion cathode synthesis, electrode fabrication, and electrochemical evaluation. The focus is on advancing the efficiency and speed of these crucial stages in the development and assessment of battery components. The Project team will develop for HTE and where applicable automated, material synthesis, electrode preparation, and electrochemical testing. The new electrochemical methods that will be developed in high-throughput include electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiostatic intermittent titration technique, to more fully understand changes taking place in the cells during battery operation. The Project also aims to study disordered rocksalt materials in high-throughput and develop new compositions that overcome current limitations that are preventing these materials from being commercialized.

Everest Solutions Group (“Everest”) aims to create an online solution capable of creating and managing Digital ID cards for students at colleges, universities and high schools in North America. The main purpose of the system is to replace the need for students and staff to carry physical ID cards that need to be printed and maintained. Beyond simple identity verification, a digital ID can also be used to:
- Provide access to campus buildings by interfacing with electronic door systems.
- Link student identity to other school systems such as cafeteria (meal plans), library and lab access.

New stoves and fireplaces that will meet new EPA emission standards.

The Healthsign smart wristband is an Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) system that streams physiological data from the wristband to mobile devices and store it on cloud networks. An AI approach is used to enhance data security for the smart wristband system.

The project funding will support the firm researching, developing, optimizing production, testing product packaging, testing of product stability under shipping conditions, and scaling the firm's manufacturing processes to produce its Wound Care products at commercial scale.
