Purchase of equipment and building improvements to establish a boat manufacturing plant.

This project aims to increase productivity, reduce product losses and increase revenues by expanding the plant to include a refrigeration and freezing area.

This financial support enables the recipient to undertake new or expanded international business development promotion activities, in a given sector, for the benefit of its entire industry (member and non-member firms).

This assessed contribution represents Canada’s long-term support to the Commonwealth Secretariat. The Commonwealth Secretariat uses these funds and other members’ funding, to achieve its mandate. The Secretariat's mandate includes: (1) supporting the Commonwealth as a corporate secretariat; (2) undertaking policy and advocacy work, notably supporting small and vulnerable states; and (3) providing technical and advisory services to member countries.

The current Strategic Plan (2021 to 2025) orients the work of the Secretariat around four goals: (1) democracy and governance; (2) sustainable development; (3) resilience and climate action; and (4) small and other vulnerable states.

This assessed contribution represents Canada’s long-term support to the Commonwealth Youth Programme, which delivers the Commonwealth Secretariat’s youth work. The Commonwealth Youth Program uses these funds and other members’ funding to achieve its mandate. The Commonwealth Youth Programme's mandate includes: (1) engaging and recognizing young people; (2) supporting member governments through technical assistance and advocacy; and (3) professionalizing youth work.

The Commonwealth Secretariat's current Strategic Plan (2021 to 2025) guides the work of the Commonwealth Youth Programme and establishes youth empowerment as a cross-cutting theme. The overall objective is to enhance youth’s effective participation and equal opportunities in leadership, governance, economic and social development.
