The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D) is a scholarship in the Canada Research Training Awards Suite (CRTAS) administered by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The Canada Postdoctoral Research Award (CPRA) program is a federal research talent investment program in the Canada Research Training Awards Suite (CRTAS) administered by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The CRTAS includes the following programs: the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Master's (CGRS M), the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D) and the Canada Postdoctoral Research Award (CPRA). 

This contribution supports a research project that aims to analyze existing and future data from Superior Shoal to assess rates and mechanisms of ecosystem function. The findings will be shared at conferences, in publications, and through broadcast interviews.

The City of Grande Prairie’s “Diversion First” Project aims to enhance the youth justice system’s ability to rehabilitate and reintegrate young people by increasing the use and effectiveness of out-of-court measures for less serious offences. The project will establish a coordinated diversion framework, a structured pathway that connects justice partners, outreach teams, schools, and community organizations to deliver meaningful interventions aimed at preventing youth from entering or re-entering the formal justice system.

This will be a pilot project for Ontario to build capacity for the next stage of bail data linking, sharing and analysis. As the next step beyond the implementation of the National Bail Data Action Plan, this project will test data linkage techniques on Ontario data assets to produce identifiers on potential re-offending on bail and recidivism. Additionally, this project will start examining the legal authorities and framework for data sharing between the province and the Canadian Police Information Centre.

The renewed escalation of hostilities since March 2026 has triggered large-scale displacement across Lebanon, forcing hundreds of thousands of people, including Lebanese civilians, Syrian refugees, and Palestine refugees to flee their homes, often repeatedly, in search of safety. This sudden displacement has overwhelmed collective shelters and placed severe pressure on host communities, pushing families into overcrowded public buildings, informal sites, and unsafe living conditions. Displaced populations face heightened protection risks and critical gaps in access to emergency shelter, cash assistance, health care, WASH services, and psychosocial support. Women and children are particularly exposed to risks of gender-based violence, family separation, and barriers to essential services, while older persons and persons with disabilities face increased mobility and access challenges.

The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) leads the international protection and assistance response for refugees, stateless persons, asylum seekers, and, internally displaced persons in Lebanon, working in close coordination with national authorities and humanitarian partners.

With the support of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and other donors, this project will deliver life-saving protection and humanitarian assistance under the 2026 Lebanon Flash Appeal, responding to rapidly deteriorating humanitarian conditions and escalating displacement pressures.

Project activities will prioritize urgent emergency and protection needs, including protection services and case management; emergency shelter and core relief items; access to primary health care; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) support; multipurpose cash assistance to meet basic needs; and mental health and psychosocial support. Assistance will target the most vulnerable refugees, displaced Lebanese, and affected host community members, with particular attention to women, children, persons with disabilities, older persons, and survivors of violence.

The purpose of this CanExport Associations contribution agreement is to support organizations and ultimately aims to increase the competitiveness of Canadian companies, in the international marketplace, on a sectoral basis, thereby contributing to Canadian prosperity and the growth of the Canadian economy. This financial support enables the recipient to undertake new or expanded international business development promotion activities, in a given sector, for the benefit of its entire industry (member and non-member firms).
