Canada Arts Presentation Fund - Programming Support

Through this 34-month project, the New Brunswick Multicultural Council Inc. (NBMC) will help advance women’s economic security and prosperity through systemic change. The project will reduce barriers to participation and success in the workforce for newcomer women in New Brunswick. Specifically, it will connect with partners to gather information on current challenges faced by newcomer women and best human resources practices for employers. The collected information will then inform training opportunities to support employers in reducing barriers through improved internal policies. NBMC will focus on broader systems change through activities such as the creation of a short film as well as information and culturally appropriate supports for newcomer women. An external evaluator will measure and assess the impact of the systemic change project.

Through this 34-month systemic change project, Saint John’s Women Centre will scale the Empowering Them e-course to advance women’s representation in leadership and decision-making roles. The project will scale to participating employers to develop policies and procedures that create a work environment that values and leverages the contribution of women and gender diverse people. It will address barriers in the workplace faced by women and gender diverse people, empowering them to lead and take on decision-making roles. By creating a work environment that values and leverages the contribution of women and gender diverse people, participating businesses will encourage greater employee engagement, retention, and success. To do so, the project will engage with key employers and provide them with training while supporting the development and implementation of policies. Throughout the project, St. John’s Women’s Centre Inc. will conduct ongoing impact measurement to ensure training is relevant and effective.

With the supplemental funds provided in early 2026, the St. John’s Women’s Centre will further scale their Empowering Them e-course to new target populations: post-secondary education institutions, seniors’ organizations and care providers for seniors, men’s social groups and men's networks as allies. To achieve this, the St. John’s Women’s Centre will develop or adapt project materials, develop and implement a communication strategy, and deliver presentations to target groups across the province.

Provide programming and operational support for the startup and IT communities

Terre Boreale Inc. is receiving $57,331 for a one-year project to acquire capital inventory and create promotional content to expand their tourism offerings with a new winter tourism experience where guests will experience the traditional Yukon cabin lifestyle and activities on a private island with a guide. 

Darrell’s Welding Ltd., the operator of Castaway Cottages is receiving $99,999 toward a 1-year project to expand business operation. The expansion project includes two main capital items sections.

Nunavut Equipment Engineering Services Ltd. (NEES Ltd.) will implement a one-year project to create a new revenue stream by providing residential and commercial vent cleaning services in Iqaluit.

It is expected that the Indigenous Participant Funding Program will help to support the meaningful participation of Indigenous groups in initiatives related to the future divestment of Trans Mountain, led by Finance Canada or within the Minister of Finance’s purview.
