This project seeks to improve menstrual health and hygiene for women and girls living in Méhé village in the far north region of Cameroon. This intervention aims to provide solutions that enable their full participation with dignity in the educational, cultural, civic and economic life of their community. The project focuses on increasing individual and community knowledge of menstrual health and hygiene to break down the stigma surrounding menstruation. Project activities include: (1) training and running awareness sessions for women, girls, men and boys on menstrual health and hygiene, gender equality and gender norms; (2) training women on the production of reusable sanitary pads and soap; (3) constructing a small facility where women can produce sanitary pads and soap; (4) constructing 6 wells and 3 safe and accessible toilets; and (5) developing maintenance plans for the new wells and toilets to support the participation of women and girls in decision-making.

This project involves renovating the Crossroads Program building. The asphalt roof will be replaced, a window that opens will be added to the Duty Office, an intercom and buzzer system will be installed, baseboard heaters will be replaced, and repairs will be made to exterior decking.

The purpose of the Indigenous Habitat Participation Program- Grant Funding is to meet the legal obligations to support the participation of Indigenous communities in consultations on Departmental Crown conduct (i.e., decisions, such as arrangements, approvals, authorizations and permits) under the Fisheries Act and/or Species at Risk Act.

Through the application of national and local priorities, the CSJ program seeks to provide youth, particularly those who face barriers to employment with access to work opportunities. Funded employers must demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills.

The funding supports projects that enable seniors to age at home under two streams: .• In-Home Support Pilot Projects.• Scaling Up for Seniors. . .In-Home Support Pilot Projects stream.Provides funding to seniors-serving organizations to expand delivery of volunteer-based services to low-income and otherwise vulnerable seniors to help them age at home and provide a service that helps seniors navigate and gain access to services provided by other organizations active in the local area. .Scaling Up for Seniors stream.Provides funding to expand services that have already demonstrated results in helping seniors age at home.

The Investment in Training Equipment Stream aims to improve the quality of training of apprentices in Red Seal trades.

The stream supports projects that demonstrate a need for training equipment or materials that meet industry standards or investments in new technology to train apprentices in the Red Seal trades.
