In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Construction for Sidewalk Extension on Principale Street
In 2020, Saint-Mathieu completed its first bicycle path and first sidewalk on Principale street. The Municipality wants to extend the bike path and sidewalk to more areas and encourage more residents to participate in outdoor activities. The project consists of three sections of sidewalk on Principale street totaling just under 1 km. We have already engaged an engineering firm to draw up plans as this project is in line with our strategic plan, our family policy and our senior-friendly municipality.

RMT Cycle Route - Interconnection and Signage Project
The Regional Municipality of Tracadie (RMT) wants to develop active transportation in its community by taking advantage of existing infrastructure and minimizing the construction of additional infrastructure. This project will develop the network of bike lanes and trails in the RMT.

A Call for National Coordination: Addressing Indigenous Homelessness in Canada
Communities across Canada that have a significant issue with homelessness and will have increased supports for their vulnerable populations through Reaching Home. This is accomplished by mobilizing partners at the federal, provincial/territorial and community levels, as well as the private and voluntary sectors, and other stakeholders, to address barriers to well-being faced by those who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.

Retrofit of an ice rink in Foothills County, AB that provide recreational and social services to the surrounding communities. The project is to install rooftop solar panels and combined heat and power system to support recent improvements to the building's heating, cooling, and control systems.

Veteran Community connect Program
Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness across Canada will have increased support through the Program. This is accomplished by providing direct funding to communities and mobilizing collaborators at the federal, provincial/territorial and community levels, as well as the private and voluntary sectors, to address barriers to well-being faced by Veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness, through two funding streams: the Services and Supports Stream and the Capacity Building Stream.
