Support aboriginal communities in becoming successful participants in commercial fisheries and aquaculture

To encourage scientific research and related scientific activities (e.g. data collection, integration, monitoring, and communication, including communication via conferences and symposia) and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the areas of: (a) Fisheries and Aquaculture Science; (b) Ecosystem Science; (c) Oceanography and Modelling; and (d) Freshwater Science.

Assessment of existing transportation services and how to unify them to create a single transit model that will enhance community transit ridership, accessibility and cost efficiency for the Counties of Grey, Dufferin and Bruce.

The Installing of Water and Sewer Infrastructure in Cyr Street Extension Project in Oromocto, New Brunswick addresses the town's housing and infrastructure needs by extending Cyr Street to Terry Fox Drive. The project involves installing drinking-water and wastewater infrastructure to unlock or enable almost six hectares of municipally owned land, including just over four hectares of land zoned for high-density residential development (including non-market or social housing). This includes planning and capital construction components (e.g., 840 metres of kerb and gutter, 490 metres of sidewalk, various utility installations, etc.). The project is expected to enable 300 new housing units, all within walking distance of an existing school and commercial amenities.

St. Theresa Point First Nation is a remote, fly in community located northeast of Winnipeg. The project entails retrofitting the St. Theresa Point First Nation Daycare building with a grid tied solar photovoltaic system. The solar PV system is designed to reduce the building's carbon emissions and overall carbon footprint on Mother Earth. The system is an important step to improving energy reliability for the building and community. The St. Theresa Point First Nation Daycare center is a very important part of the community, the day care allows for parents, both moms and dads, to be able to go to work or school knowing their little ones are under safe care. St. Theresa Point has a population of over 5000 people many of whom have younger children. The solar system will lower operating expenses that can to go towards equipment, toys, lunches and even additional staff to meet the constant demand.

Grant awarded under the Policy Dialogue Program to the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Government (Ucluelet First Nation) to assist in preparing for and engaging in participation activities associated with the ongoing Review of Legislative, Regulatory, and Policy Development Processes.

Grant awarded under the Participant Funding Program to Adefarati Oloruntoba to assist in preparing for and engaging in Indigenous consultation activities and public participation opportunities associated with the assessment process for the Greenlight Electricity Centre Project.

Grant awarded under the Policy Dialogue Program to the Battle River Indigenous Relations Council Inc. to assist in preparing for and engaging in participation activities associated with the ongoing Review of Legislative, Regulatory, and Policy Development Processes.

The project is mostly related to decreasing greenhouse gas emissions through the demonstration of technologies to reduce fossil fuel use for heat and/or power generation in Canada's remote communities and/or remote industrial sites.
