A new build project in Tofino, BC, to be built to net-zero design standards, that will address the community need for an accessible and safe space to deliver programs and initiatives, support economic development, sustainable tourism, and social innovation.

The retrofit of a sports and recreation facility in the Town of Wolfville, NS will replace the ice shed and second story roofs, the windows, walls, ceiling, and emergency doors. The retrofit will also include additional insulation to offset the facility's heating expenses.

The retrofit of a cultural building in Carp, ON that will include infrastructure upgrades to the museum, a 100,000-square-foot cultural facility buried 75 feet underground, that will improve environmental conditions and accessibility. This includes improving air ventilation, improving water distribution through new plumbing systems to serve accessible washrooms, decommissioning the old plumbing systems, upgrading the fire sprinkler piping, repairing the historic Heli-pad and entrance/parking lot to achieve full accessibility, and updating the building's electrical redistribution load.

This project advances the Government of Canada commitment to plant an additional two billion new trees over the next 10 years as part of a broader approach to nature-based climate solutions.

The purpose of this grant agreement is to support the United Nations' Forum on Forestry secretariat in carrying out its mandate to support promotion of sustainable forest management, including administration of the Forum trust fund consistent with guidance provided by the Forum, including regular and transparent reporting.

This project promotes greater awareness among Canadians of zero-emission and low-emission options in the medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDV) sector.
