Within this project there is a need to understand the chemical reaction intermediates and products and the effect of the electronic properties of catalysts on the selectivity and efficiency of the electrochemical process. We have access to state-of-the art characterization tools (not available at NRC) that will allow the us to unravel the chemical nature of the catalyst’s surface and associated intermediates and products formed from electrochemical reduction of CO2 using simultaneous and online monitoring of surface chemicals and gas phase products.

Dysfunctional innate immune system, aberrant lipid metabolism and chronic inflammation plays a pivotal role in the development of neurodegenerative diseases. We aim to use quantitative neurolipidomics (uOttawa) to identify novel "lipid signatures" that can act as sterile triggers to activate inflammatory responses and leverage antibody-based therapeutics (NRC) to extinguish the fire of inflammation.

By identifying their individual needs and culturally appropriate supports in their community, we can empower victims/survivors to escape these insurmountable barriers.

This project aims to enhance Somalia’s capacity to implement sound macroeconomic policies, which in turn helps Somalia reach debt relief and finance its’ national development plan, laying the foundations for reduced poverty and inclusive development.

Microplastic Research & Single-use Plastic Prevention Project

The objectives of the Program are to; support the development and utilization of effective approaches to address social issues and challenges; develop, exchange and apply knowledge, tools and resources that address social needs of individuals, families and communities; foster partnerships and networks to address existing and emerging social issues; recognize and support the ability of not-for-profit organizations to identify and address social development priorities; and, recognize and promote community engagement initiatives (e.g. volunteerism, corporate social responsibility, innovation, partnerships, coalitions) that mobilize community assets and develop capacities and resources for action.

For this Youth Employment Program, we are hiring a recent graduate in zoology to provide scientific and educational skillsets on the team, to be applied in the functions of product programming, and supporting marketing and customer service.

Reaching Home aims to prevent and reduce homelessness across Canada. This is accomplished by mobilizing partners at the federal, provincial/territorial and community levels, as well as the private and voluntary sectors, and other stakeholders, to address barriers to well-being faced by those who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.

The objectives of the Program are: • promoting volunteerism among seniors; • engaging seniors in the community through mentoring of others; • expanding awareness of elder abuse, including financial abuse; • supporting social participation and inclusion of seniors; and • providing capital assistance for new and existing community projects and/or programs for seniors.

This 13-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health (CPATH) to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by building organizational infrastructure, increasing board capacity and updating the strategic plan to increase internal capacity and support sustainability; and by offering collaborative opportunities for network-building via committees and engagement plans to enhance membership and community engagement. This project will prioritize engagement of racialized and less privileged voices in trans communities, and support community co-planning and involvement.
