This is a project to experiment with new mechanisms and hypothesis for creating repeatable and scalable business process and to develop IP in business methods.

This International Co-Innovation Action Program (ICAP) project will prepare the firm to enter into future international co-innovation work.

The microfluidics researcher will support the development of an advanced microfluidic diagnostic platform, integrating optimized hardware and fluidic systems for high-sensitivity biochemical analysis.

International Co-Innovation Action Program (ICAP) Project:
TEKTELIC, a global leader in wireless IoT solutions, is initiating an International Collaboration Action Plan (ICAP) with NRC-IRAP to expand its presence in Singapore and Southeast Asia. This project focuses on introducing TEKTELIC's Smart Building and Facility Management solutions to address regional demand for IoT technologies that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. The initiative involves identifying and partnering with regional distributors, VARs, and co-innovation partners, participating in trade missions, and attending tradeshows like Asia Tech X. The project aims to drive sales growth, create jobs, and strengthen Canada's presence in the global IoT market

BuildBase provides a comprehensive ERP tool to help home builders run their business. The objective of the project is to fully develop self-management and self-onboarding features for BuildBase, allowing users to manage their accounts independently, including onboarding and offboarding vendors and staff. The vision is to create an administrative panel that allows builders to self onboard themselves into the platform using clean web based interfaces. The vision is to also allow builders to manage BuildBase capabilities accessible to their stakeholders through a simple web interface.

The EL Smith drinking water treatment plant in Edmonton Alberta has been outfit with a large solar array and battery bank to both reduce non-renewable power consumption and increase electrical grid stability. This requires intelligent software to manage when to charge the batteries, when to supply solar and battery power to the water plant, and when to provide excess power to the grid. Many factors make it difficult for human operators to manually control operations, including: plant shut-downs and start-ups, current price of electricity, grid demand and stability, drinking water demand , and of course course weather. The goal of this project is to build a machine learning based controller to optimize this complex process.

The Project will support pilot testing of AI strategies, determine target architecture and quantitative technical objectives for implementation of an upgraded AI solution.

The project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the firm.

Participation in the Canadian advanced manufacturing technology co-innovation mission to the Eureka Global Innovation Summit at Hannover Messe (Germany) – March 30 to April 4, 2025. Delegation led by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) to develop international partnerships and potential project ideas under the Eureka Programs.

This project aims to develop a real-time fatigue detection and intervention system for heavy-duty machine operators, such as truck drovers, using smartwatch and sensor-based technology. By detecting and alerting operators to the onset of fatigue, the system will help reduce workplace accidents and enhance overall safety by empowering the driver to understand themselves more and take appropriate action.
