The TrailCollectiv R&D project will add innovation capacity by developing the integration of trail parks guides, with expanded offline capabilities, and adding in collaborative features for partners. The project will involve implementing, testing, and researching these features.

This project will provide a Research and Design phase and a Proof of Concept phase to allow BCS to design, build and install new, lighter-weight and custom-sized modular switchboards for the marine (and other) industries. This includes research, design and training in modular switchboard components, Arc Flash factors and ratings and the use of advanced software to support design/build of these complex electrical switchboards. We would also develop and build specialized tools to support the build process allowing us to be as competitive as possible. The purchase of components to support this project is accounted for as this is essential to successfully developing the best designs and built techniques and training our staff.

The Youth Hire - Interface AI Specialist project aims to leverage innovative artificial intelligence technology to enhance our development and production infrastructure. The project is intended to last for 46 weeks in the first phase, to then continue or expand based on the derived value to the organization. This initiative involves the research and application of off-the-shelf and custom AI modules, directed at improving and streamlining our internal corporate skill development. The initial focus will be on streamlining and implementing systems for the use of AI in HTML development and minor interface programming components. It will then expand to integrated AI customer service tools and back-end development.

Research and development will be necessary to evaluate, adapt and enhance long-cane raspberry growth to meet present and future market needs.

The objective of this project is to develop an in-lab method for the chemical removal of iron from a waste stream. The method developed is to be practical, economical and easily scalable for pilot plant integration. Copper production at Destiny Copper (DC) generates an iron-rich effluent as a byproduct. This solution will undergo chemical treatment to precipitate and recover iron compounds. Following isolation, the recovered iron will be processed to create specific products suitable for industrial or commercial use.

The project aims to develop an innovative digital platform that facilitates the seamless integration of newcomers, particularly international students, into the Canadian workforce by recognizing and enhancing their micro-credentials. The digital platform will enable newcomers to showcase their diverse skills, work experience, and educational background obtained both outside and inside of Canada, thus increasing their employability and minimizing underemployment challenges.

Development of integrated Semi-Conductor Manufacturing System resulting in increased capacity, efficiency and quality: This system will monitor and record in-line conductance data for real time feedback and adjustments to the system to control quality and reduce wasted time and materials.

This project aims to enable NRC IRAP clients across Canada to access the specialized innovation services of the Centre for Natural Products (CNP) at Loyalist College. An IRAP-eligible Small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) referred to the program by an ITA or a Client Engagement Advisor from NRC IRAP, and will be provided with up to 80 hours of research time. The research time will aim to solve a problem identified by the SME through providing technical information, advice, and analysis on specialized equipment.

The grains industry grapples with extensive data generation (crop yields, market prices, inventory, logistics, risk tolerance), yet legacy ERP systems, prevalent in the sector, struggle to integrate effectively with modern databases (e.g., Grain Discovery). These outdated ERPs, lacking the agility to handle evolving data needs, hinder real-time data ingestion, advanced analytics, and seamless cloud-based database integration. Consequently, Grain Discovery is increasingly adopting AI solutions to bridge the gap between ad-hoc data and database integration, fostering quicker, data-driven decision-making in this dynamic sector.
