Acumen is seeking a new graduate to support the development of an advanced LMS platform and other AI-driven software applications, including Patch Management and CVA automation tools, to provide specialized cybersecurity and compliance training for graduates and new hires. The platform and applications will serve utilities, critical infrastructure, hospitals, educational institutions, and corporate IT environments. This initiative strengthens Canada’s workforce readiness, enhances operational security, and advances digital resilience across key sectors.

Seasonal and pandemic influenza continue to pose substantial threats to public health and highly pathogenic strains such as H5N1 carry the potential for devastating outbreaks. The Firm proposes to develop a novel long-acting pre-exposure prophylaxis platform to deliver DNA-encoded broadly neutralizing antibodies directly to the upper and lower respiratory tracts. This approach aims to provide durable, broad-spectrum protection against influenza infection including emerging avian strains through a single inhaled or intranasal administration.

This International Co-Innovation Action Program (ICAP) project will prepare the firm to enter into future international co-innovation work in KSA and Oman.

Developing a motorized all-terrain chassis for rigid wheelchairs.

The goal of this project is to scale the processing of solid fish waste from the koi aquaculture system from pilot to demonstration commercial scale, trial the digestion process using other sources of aquaculture waste (trout, salmon) and water sources (municipal, well, rain, and RAS), trial the fertilizers produced on a diverse range of crops (fruit, vegetables, grains; greenhouse and field crops), and trial different novel aquaponic fish feed recipes designed using sustainable ingredients and different price points.

“As part of the international consortium project “UAPM”, this project will focus on developing next-generation underwater quantum LiDAR for monitoring and securing subsea assets. It targets structural decay of oil and gas installations, environmental impact of offshore infrastructure, and protection of communication cables from sabotage. Led by Phantom Photonics (Canada) and RUPHOS (Germany), the system combines SONAR-like range with optical resolution, enabling precise, frequent data collection. This breakthrough supports predictive maintenance, environmental compliance, and security for operators of energy and telecom assets.

Develop an intelligent data validation and anomaly detection platform specifically designed for hospital and healthcare supply chain data.

This initiative enhances cannabis production by optimizing greenhouse cultivation and tissue culture propagation. In the greenhouse, trials assess lighting, stress indicators, irrigation, and climate impacts to guide automation upgrades and reduce cost-per-gram. In tissue culture, experiments refine lighting and starting material maturity to accelerate plantlet readiness and improve consistency. Together, these projects support scalable, data-driven improvements in yield, efficiency, and reliability.

The Firm is undertaking a transformative R&D project to scale its AI-driven health data infrastructure, enhancing interoperability, privacy compliance, and analytics for Canadian pharmacies. The initiative will develop secure APIs, bilingual interfaces, and adaptive data tools that integrate directly into pharmacy systems, enabling streamlined clinical workflows and compliant data exchange to support innovation and improve patient care across Canada.
