Through the application of national and local priorities, the CSJ program seeks to provide youth, particularly those who face barriers to employment with access to work opportunities. Funded employers must demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills.

The project works towards building girl-friendly school environments, providing targeted learning support to adolescent girls and young women, and generating parent and community support for girls’ education.

This project consists of offering judicial information workshops to under represented members of an official language community in a minority setting, in order to develop their knowledge about judicial matters and increase their access to the justice. These workshops will be led by subject matter experts who will convey complex information in an accessible manner, to the benefit of the project's participants.

The proposed work aims to advance Nektar’s LiDAR processing capabilities by developing Deep Neural Networks for fully automated point cloud processing. Over the past 2 years, Nektar has invested heavily in mobile laser scanning equipment while also developing multiple state-of-the-art handcrafted algorithms for efficient processing of LiDAR datasets for transportation infrastructure projects. As the LiDAR market grows, Nektar is challenged with improving the efficiency of its processing to handle 100s of million points and Gigabytes/Terabytes of data. Nektar aims to employ Artificial Intelligence to develop models for automated simultaneous detection of multiple objects within the volumetric, exhaustive, and unorganized point clouds.

The objectives of the Program are to; support the development and utilization of effective approaches to address social issues and challenges;.develop, exchange and apply knowledge, tools and resources that address social needs of individuals, families and communities; foster partnerships and networks to address existing and emerging social issues; recognize and support the ability of not-for-profit organizations to identify and address social development priorities; and, recognize and promote community engagement initiatives (e.g. volunteerism, corporate social responsibility, innovation, partnerships, coalitions) that mobilize community assets and develop capacities and resources for action..

The overarching objective of the Union Training and Innovation Program aims to strengthen apprenticeship training systems to better support a skilled, inclusive, certified and productive trades workforce by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of training provided. .The streams have the following specific objectives: .Stream 1 (Equipment) will increase investment in training equipment and materials for higher quality training, leading to a more skilled and productive trade workforce. .Stream 2 (Innovation in Apprenticeship) will support innovation and enhanced partnerships to address long-standing and complex challenges that limit apprenticeship outcomes. .Stream 3 (Women in Construction Fund [WCF]) will support projects that expand or replicate successful models to encourage more women to participate and succeed in apprenticeship and the skilled trades. Stream 4 (Trades Exploration and Experience Program) will support projects that encourage Canadians to explore, prepare for, participate and succeed in apprenticeship and skilled trades careers. This stream is limited to participants who are not registered apprentices..
