The Project aims to deliver learner-centered, competency-based, and gender-responsive Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) services to support ethnic minority women (EMW) and other marginalized women (MW).

Project activities include: (1) sharing information and analysis among development partners on key development issues in Sri Lanka, including gender equality; (2) providing effective organisational support to the Development Partners Strategic Group, Forum, and Bilateral Donor Group; and (3) enhancing interaction with the Government of Sri Lanka, particularly the Ministry of Finance, Planning and E

It supports local and regional women’s rights organizations (WROs), lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex plus (LBTQI+) groups and feminist networks working to promote the rights of women and girls and advance gender equality globally. It provides multi-year core funding and rapid responsive funding, strengthens institutional capacity and bolsters feminist movements, as WROs and feminist movements are critical change agents.

It will target a wider range of WROs addressing themes such as prevention of sexual and gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, marginalization and exclusion, safe migration, human rights, and social movements to protect women’s rights.

This will, in turn, enhance their cohesiveness and sustainability and help them work in a coordinated and collaborative manner, building an active feminist movement for long-term change. By promoting gender equality and empowering women to assert their rights, the project aims to foster an environment where access and control over livelihood and economic resources, social and legal protection and security are no longer sources of inequality, and structural poverty.

This project is part of Canada’s Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership Program, which supports local and regional women’s organizations and networks that are working to promote women’s rights, and advance women’s empowerment and gender equality in developing countries. This is done by supporting their activities, building institutional capacity, and promoting network and alliance-building, as women’s rights and feminist organizations are critical agents of change.

Project activities include: (1) training primary health care workforce to provide gender-responsive RMNCH and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs; (2) teaching hygiene behaviour change interventions in health and community settings; (3) training and supporting the community in advocacy and leadership for gender-responsive, inclusive health and WASH services and rights; (4) training health system duty bearers at national, subnational and district levels in gender-responsive budgeting, planning, monitoring and reporting of inclusive WASH services; and (5) generating and sharing evidence on integrated WASH and health intervention models among health and WASH sectors in target countries and globally.

Project activities include: (1) training women entrepreneurs to use digital tools, strengthen cybersecurity, and improve marketing; (2) providing gender-responsive business management training, an online hub with templates and resources, and pathways to financing to help women access broader markets; and (3) building capacity in local partner organizations to sustain women’s empowerment and gender equality initiatives.

This project aims to improve equality, enjoyment of human rights, and freedom from sexual and gender-based violence for women and girls in Kiribati, Solomon Islands and Tonga. The Project seeks to increase inclusive and gender-responsive promotion and protection of women and girls’ right to live free from sexual and gender-based violence.

This project supports the Overseas Development Institute’s (ODI) Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) program, focusing on responses to the complex "polycrisis" affecting societies globally.
