The purpose of the Canadian International Innovation Program (CIIP) contribution agreement is to support Canadian SMEs identify international partners in CIIP target countries for industrial research and development collaboration that has good potential for commercialization.

This project is part of Global Affairs Canada’s International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), funded by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy. The IYIP aims to provide youth aged 18 to 30, living in Canada, particularly those facing employment barriers, with the opportunity to gain professional experience in international development.

The Resilient Youth | Supported Inclusion | Network Growth (RYSING) Project implemented by The Fisheries and Marine Institute of the Memorial University and Atlantic Council for International Cooperation provide Canadian youth, in particular youth who face discrimination and barriers to employment, 4-month internships. The project provide youth the opportunity to improve employment skills through international placements focusing on environmental sustainability, adaptation to climate change, and improving gender equality. The proposed 190 internships respond to the local partner and community needs. They are aligned with specific Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The YMCA International Youth Internship Program implemented by YMCA will mobilize 100 Canadian youth, specifically those who belong to or identify themselves as members of a group that faces discrimination (people living with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, racialized youth (black youth) and members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community). Placement will be offered in 6 YMCAs across four countries in Africa and Latin America for three or six months. Internships have been designed in collaboration with local YMCA partners based on their needs and priorities such as: environmental and food sovereignty, mental health support, education, agroecology, restoration of peace and security, social protection and youth advocacy, gender inequality, and climate change.

Not a Project (Mandated or Core Funding)

This contribution supports Walpole Island First Nation to participate in the exploration of a potential national urban park in Windsor, Ontario. The contribution will provide capacity support, as well as support for community engagement and research.

The contribution supports Piikani Nation, as part of the Lake Louise Indigenous Advisory Circle Working Group, to develop and review an Interpretive Plan for the design and presentation of Indigenous cultural content and stories in the Lake Louise area.

The contribution supports Caldwell First Nation in building a cold room on Nation-owned lands north of Point Pelee National Park. The cold room will facilitate the processing, storage, and distribution of meat to Caldwell First Nation members from deer herd reductions at Point Pelee National Park.
