Grants and Contributions

Project activities include: (1) funding feasibility and technical studies on new technologies; (2) developing climate action plans with private sector companies; (3) identifying trends that they can use to replicate and scale successful initiatives; (4) increasing awareness and developing action plans for gender equality and diversity; (5) supporting financial institutions in implementing recommendations from the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures and the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures; and (6) documenting case studies and sharing lessons learned with interested stakeholders.

Project activities that include: (1) providing technical assistance to agri-SMES at the pre- and post-investment stage to increase their capacity to access and manage financing; (2) building capacity for lenders to adapt their product offering, enhance their staff expertise, improve and create environmental, social, and governance policies; and (3) conducting data and learning activities to inform adjustments to incentive levels and technical assistance as the market evolves.

Specific activities include (1) education and training, (2) a 24/7 text crisis line, (3) private and encrypted online platform for journaling, (4) online learning centre to assist individuals who have experienced sexual violence to understand options for support.

A development focused Drop-In Centre for Survivors to access for specialized training, education, and support, including an online learning platform. The Propel Survivor Development Centre will be offered to Survivors age 16 and up of all genders who have experienced labour and/or sexual human trafficking, both in person, and through online platforms.

Project Propel Development Program for Survivors of Human Trafficking will offer two specialized streams of support for victims of human trafficking. 1) The Propel Housing project will be offered to Survivors age 19 and up who have experienced labour and/or sexual human trafficking in need of supportive bridge housing between first and second stage development 2) A development focused Drop-In Centre for Survivors to access for specialized training, education, and support, including an online learning platform. The Propel Survivor Development Centre will be offered to Survivors age 16 and up of all genders who have experienced labour and/or sexual human trafficking, both in person, and through online platforms.

The project will develop three learning modules: in-person workshops, online modules, and a module designed for professionals and organizations, including those working with diverse groups.

The contribution supports the work of the Muskowekwan First Nation to honour the memories and legacy of generations of children, survivors and their families of all who attended the Muscowequan Residential School by repurposing the former colonial era school building and the site into a place of healing, memory, cultural learning and community development. This project, guided by a multi-disciplinary team, with Indigenous knowledge and experience, will develop an architectural, engineering, and conservation plan for the first phase of the rehabilitation of the former school, including necessary site-clean up, as well as the rehabilitation or creation of a new onsite administrative workspace.

The Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter Society will achieve this by expanding an early intervention youth learning program to prevent the impacts of gender-based and family violence and break the cycle of violence.

The Minerva Foundation for BC Women will achieve this by convening a youth advisory group, engaging partner organizations and by designing, developing, and delivering reciprocal learning sessions where participants will collaborate to address gendered attitudes that persist in the workplace and encourage women to seek and succeed in leadership.

In addition, the organization will learn more about existing resources in the province through meetings, research, and consultations.
