Grants and Contributions

Project activities include: (1) co-develop with, and provide learning programs for youth in leadership, digital skills and innovation, gender equality, social innovation and entrepreneurship; (2) offer community placements to young women so they can train local partners and collaborators to develop gender responsive policies and programs; (3) create linkages between the private sector and governments to develop policies and programs to close the gender digital divide (inequality for women and girls with regard to the access, use and impact of technology); (4) train DOT local partners to act as regional hubs that identify, execute and scale youth leadership, social entrepreneurship and social innovation programs that are gender responsive; and (5) test new business models with DOT local partners and collaborators in Ghana, Malawi, Uganda and Zambia.

Project activities include: (1) recruiting and training volunteers in gender equality, ethics, participatory approaches, innovation, inclusion, and resilience approaches to support partners; (2) implementing global funds to support partner initiatives advancing gender equality; (3) implementing peer learning initiatives addressing women's leadership and approaches to inclusion, innovation, and resilience; (4) creating spaces for dialogue by young leaders to share their thoughts and influence decision-makers on gender equality and youth engagement; and (5) organizing public events on global and gender inequalities to reach and engage diverse Canadian audiences.

Project activities include: (1) providing tailored, long-term training and mentorship for Congolese women’s organizations; (2) providing Congolese women’s organizations with direct, multi-year funding; (3) establishing and strengthening networks of women’s organizations by facilitating exchanges to share experiences, accomplishments and lessons learned in order to build solidarity around a common vision for the feminist movement; and (4) supporting women’s rights organizations in the design and development of their advocacy strategies.

Co-creation activities, storytelling, and lessons learned from individuals with lived experience will support the development of policies and strategies tackling poverty, unemployment and housing.

For the second part of the project, Equal Voice will hold a series of virtual summits to convene elected officials to share learning, knowledge, to promote advocacy change, and to build a nationwide network for change.

Victim Services of Peel will share evaluation results including lessons learned, and project successes with stakeholders and the public so that they may replicate it or expand upon it.

To do so, the project will adapt WBG training materials for delivery to new population groups; engage, train, and support cultural peers to facilitate the project’s WBG group sessions; evaluate the applicability and impact of facilitator onboarding training; and form a Learning Collaborative which will share knowledge, build collective capacity, and support a developmental project evaluation process.
