Grants and Contributions

Project activities include: (1) undertaking an organizational capacity Assessment for each IDP and women-led organizations; (2) providing tailored training and capacity-building initiatives for IDP and women-led organizations to strengthen institutional capacities, women’s leadership, and the delivery of gender-responsive play-based approaches; (3) supporting the IDP and women-led organizations to undertake community needs assessments; (4) providing small grants to IDP and women-led organizations to deliver educational interventions at the community and school level to address gender-related barriers to girls’ and boys’ learning; (5) supporting community engagement and awareness campaigns aimed at dismantling harmful gender norms pertaining to girls’ and internally displaced children’s education and rights; and (6) facilitating IDP and women-led organizations participation in educational coalitions, networks and forums where they can share their advocacy goals with wider and influential audiences.

Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname; (4) providing training, capacity-building, and technical assistance for restoration, repopulation, rehabilitation and management of coral reefs and coastal ecosystems; and (5) collaborating, cooperating, and building partnerships with other regional and global initiatives, and research and learning institutions, to support better ecosystem protection and management regionally and globally.

Ongoing measurement and evaluation with quarterly analysis to identify learnings to integrate. (Ongoing for the duration of the project.)

To scale up, they will build on Ontario’s lessons learned and adapt the training/classroom resources for use in New Brunswick, Quebec, British Colombia and Yukon ensuring they meet each province/territory's curriculum requirements.

The Association for Native Development in the Performing and Visual Arts (ANDPVA) will achieve this by challenging gender stereotypes at the Indigenous community level and pushing for policy change to better address gender-based violence (GBV) and provide adequate support to survivors; providing safe spaces for women and gender-diverse individuals to share stories, resources and hosting sharing circles to discuss GBV topics such as Indigenous Human Trafficking (IHT) and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG), and reducing the feeling of shame for survivors; creating and hosting a culturally aware course on Indigenous GBV (including IHT and MMIWG) for band council members to educate them on stereotypes as well as influence the creation of new policies to prevent GBV within the community; creating partnerships with band council members (in Ontario and Quebec) to influence new policies; and performing an evaluation of the cultural relevancy and impact of the trainings for Indigenous communities, including lessons learned and proposed next steps for a national expansion.

This will be achieved by creating a travelling exhibition and activity guide that will enable host organizations, communities, and governments across Canada (remote, rural, urban) to learn about Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and how to address it in their own environment.

QMUNITY will develop and execute education and outreach plans around Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer identities for settlers outside the Vancouver Lower-Mainland to help share knowledge of sexual and gender identities, as well as integrate learning outcomes from the organization’s social impact research on how to best serve Indigenous and racialized Queer, Trans and Two-Spirit people

TransCare+ will: 1) Develop a public-facing executive summary of the project's plan for engaging in community-based research that includes the findings from the comprehensive baseline data collection, 2) Synthesize research findings into accessible graphics, visual fact sheets, and educational social media posts/videos for wider distribution, 3) Develop and deliver a youth-led recommendations-for-practice document that includes an analysis of research findings and action steps, 4) Create an e-learning module based on research findings for each of the groups: RLQGD youth/survivors, secondary survivors & GBV service providers, 5) Work with the youth community outreach and research facilitators to engage RLQGD youth in knowledge-sharing, and 6) Host a virtual knowledge-sharing symposium for rurally located GBV service providers, to share information on the research findings.
