Organized annually by the Canadian Society for International Health, the CCGH provides a platform for members of the global health community from Canada and internationally, including low- and middle-income countries, to share results, lessons learned, knowledge translation and best practices.

Project activities include: (1) offering technical assistance for advancing processes for legal certainty of Indigenous peoples’ land; (2) providing technical assistance to develop and update appropriate community and business development plans, gender-sensitive community leadership, and resilience-building; (3) providing agricultural assets and infrastructure in consultation with farmers; (4) offering technical assistance on resilient agricultural techniques and water system and watershed management; (5) supporting thematic learning exchanges for local organizations supporting Indigenous peoples’ communities; and (6) providing material support to Indigenous peoples implementing business plans for Small and Medium land-based enterprises.

Although it is too early to predict the trajectory of this outbreak, there are concerns regarding the containment and prevention of the virus as it has spread from three rural health zones to the provincial capital of Mbandaka, a large urban centre with national and international transportation routes, increasing the risk of it spreading further within the DRC and neighbouring countries. Based on lessons learned from the 2014 West Africa Ebola outbreak, an early response is required to help mitigate and contain the spread.

It aims to improve governance, access and quality of education, including learning conditions.

Project activities include: 1) strengthening the governance of the MENFP, through a gender-disaggregated data management system and evidence-based quality control, ensuring that schools provide inclusive education in appropriate facilities; 2) training school staff to deliver quality inclusive education and prevent gender-based violence; 3) engaging school communities in the management of school improvement plans and engaging girls' and boys' school clubs to promote girls' rights and combat stigma.

Project activities include: (1) raising awareness among adolescent boys and girls about the skills and abilities to have in order to make gender relations more positive and beneficial for women; (2) training teachers on gender and conflict-sensitive curriculum content; (3) training targeted school managers on their roles to support inclusive, safe and gender-sensitive learning environments; (4) training government officials, members of community groups and women's organizations on gender-specific barriers to education, education laws/policies/standards and evidence-based advocacy; and (5) organizing national and regional forums with key education stakeholders (civil society organizations, government officials) to share the results of case studies in Mali and to advocate for girls' education.

Project activities include: (1) training traditional indigenous midwives on updated maternal and child health practices; (2) facilitating discussions to promote inter-culturally effective health care and transparency between health authorities and community leadership; (3) conducting learning exchanges among maternal and child health leaders and providers in Guatemala and Canada, and (4) training of traditional midwives and auxiliary nurses in family planning methods and provision of family-planning counseling to both women and men.
