Develop cross-community collaborations that will provide a multi-disciplinary learning platform and training environment for early career researchers and trainees;
Generate evidence that will guide policy and other decision making, and identify opportunities for future research and interventions as part of a longer-term strategy for NCD prevention;
Decrease the incidence of risk factors for later-life NCDs by targeting early exposures and early development, particularly related to women and men’s health preconception, during pregnancy, early life and in early childhood.

Enable better preparedness for infectious diseases through the application of knowledge, sharing of lessons learned, and the creation of improved governance arrangements by:

Facilitating interactions and ongoing communication and coordination among researchers, stakeholders, and global policymakers to institutionalize the use of research evidence in global and national decision making on governance arrangements for disease preparedness; and

Promoting the use of research results, by ensuring that research evidence is communicated in appropriate forms and used by relevant stakeholders.

Project activities will include: (1) Delivery of on-site training on safe handling, disposal, and analysis of synthetic drugs and precursor chemicals; (2) Facilitate and convene discussions with key authorities involved in dismantling synthetic drug laboratories and handling chemical precursors; and (3) Development of a curricula meant for sharing lessons learned and best practices based on current collaborative work and gender responsive mechanisms.

Project activities include: conducting discussions and workshops to develop and revise materials for awareness and capacity building in 12 SP Communities and the National Secretariat, organizing learning circles in 12 SP Communities, implementing a Feminist Leadership School (FLS) in 12 SP Communities and the National Secretariat, conducting Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR) within the FLS framework in 12 SP Communities and the National Secretariat.

The project builds local capacity for planning, implementing, monitoring, and assessing the impacts of crisis response initiatives and integrating lessons learned to inform sustainability and future responses to similar crisis.

PMNCH works to advance the 2030 Global Strategy for Women's, Children's and Adolescents’ Health (Global Strategy) by: (1) prioritizing engagement in countries: focusing on populations and places with the highest burden, greatest need and most inequity; (2) driving accountability: nurturing a culture of open accountability to drive purposeful engagement and sustained commitment, tracking progress and holding each other to account; (3) focusing action for results: driving advocacy and sharing learning to accelerate and focus action and financing to deliver the Global Strategy for results; and (4) deepening partnerships: engaging and aligning a broad and inclusive range of partners to deliver the full ambition of the PMNCH for action and accountability.

This project aims to enhance equitable and inclusive learning outcomes for refugee, internally displaced and host community children and youth, particularly girls and adolescent girls, living in South Sudan and Uganda.

The project contributes to the implementation of the gender equity commitments reflected in the quality assurance policies of Afghanistan’s Teacher Education Department, namely: (1) the provision of a sufficient number of qualified women teachers, and gender-sensitive teachers who are adequately prepared to improve the learning outcomes of girls and boys; (2) a gender equitable system to establish the qualification of teachers in TTCs; and (3) reduced gender-based discrimination in TTCs.

It will build upon results and lessons learned from the GAC-funded Healthy Women and Girls project implemented by Plan Canada (P001262); and will adopt a comprehensive approach addressing three core pillars: demand, supply and accountability.

Project activities include: (1) training Ethiopian police investigators, prosecutors, judges, and members of transitional justice institutions on human rights best practices; (2) strengthening the capacity of survivor networks to engage with judicial and non-judicial accountability mechanisms; (3) creating survivor-centred communication products that provide a grassroots perspective on human rights and transitional justice issues; (4) providing free legal aid to survivors; and (5) facilitating peer-to-peer learning exchanges for selected transitional justice duty-bearers.
