In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Extension of Cooper Boulevard Walkway
This trail, once completed, will connect Gander's newly constructed school and multiplex to the centre of town. Additionally, there is a crosswalk at the school that leads to an existing municipal park with a 5 km boardwalk. The additional funding we hope to receive will be instrumental in providing seniors, children and disabled persons a safe way to walk a continuous 8 km trail.

Construction of a multi-use path on Road 2 East from Graham Sideroad to County Road 29
The applicant, the Town of Kingsville(ON) seeks funding to reconstruct an existing roadway including new curbs and gutters to install a new multi-use pathway with enhancements. The length of the project is 3.65km. The purpose of this project is to improve safety for AT users by separating them from motor-vehicle traffic, improve lighting along the AT route for further security/safety, and allow for connectivity to a future school project located in the area (supporting populations Youth/Parents etc.).

Westsyde Road Multi-Use Pathway
The proposed project is a 1.4 km multi-use pathway that will provide residents and visitors an accessible, separated, multi-use facility to walk, cycle, and roll safely between community destinations on I.R. #4. The multi-use pathway will be the first of its kind on I.R. #4. In addition to enhancing transportation options for residents, the pathway could also benefit economic development and tourism by diversifying recreation options and creating connections to recreation and community amenities.

Scott Park Trail
The project will construct about 400 meters of multi-use pathway/trail along with installing park benches in Porcupine Pine, Saskatchewan. The construction of the pathways would create connection between residential areas and the main business district, important community services and the Larwood-Shaw Memorial Swimming Pool which is currently under construction.
