The project aims to address the gap in the capacity of member states to prevent women drug couriers transporting illicit drugs into Canada and other countries.

The Advancing Gender Equality, Resilience, Opportunity, and Inclusion Worldwide (GROW) Facility aims to improve women’s livelihoods in developing countries by shifting corporate practices and creating economic opportunities for women. It seeks to achieve gender equality results by providing financial support and advisory services to help businesses improve gender equality through their core functions. This includes employing people, delivering goods and services, and allocating capital. The Facility aims to offer loans and other financial tools to support companies with growth strategies aligned with gender equality goals. This includes promoting women’s leadership or boosting women’s employment in under-represented sectors. Through advisory services, the Facility supports companies in adopting and implementing policies and operational practices that improve the lives of women in all their diversity.

The GROW Facility aims to support women’s leadership and inclusion in 5 priority areas: (1) accelerating access to finance for women and women-led businesses, (2) making supply chains inclusive; (3) removing barriers to employment and leadership; (4) bridging the digital divide; and (5) accelerating inclusive and gender-smart climate action.

Funding will support advancements in robotic platforms and methods of control to be leveraged to help CAF members accomplish high risk tasks.

The Recipient will participate in activities directly related and attributable to participation in Finance Canada’s engagement process on Indigenous economic participation in Trans Mountain to benefit their communities. It is expected that the Indigenous Participant Funding Program will help to support the meaningful participation of Indigenous groups in initiatives related to the future divestment of Trans Mountain, led by the Finance Canada or within the Minister of Finance’s purview.

The Recipient will participate in activities directly related and attributable to participation in Finance Canada’s engagement process on Indigenous economic participation in Trans Mountain to benefit their communities. It is expected that the Indigenous Participant Funding Program will help to support the meaningful participation of Indigenous groups in initiatives related to the future divestment of Trans Mountain, led by the Finance Canada or within the Minister of Finance’s purview.

To support the federal government’s commitment to maintain a strong and effective publicly funded health care system through investments in emerging and demonstrated innovations in priority areas, such as palliative and end-of-life care, home and community care, mental health care and other federal, provincial-territorial and emerging priorities.

Working Together Priorities: expanding access to family health services; supporting health workers and reducing backlogs; improving access to quality mental health, substance use and addictions services; and modernizing the health care system with standardized information and digital tools.
Aging with Dignity: to help people age with dignity, closer to home by improving access to home and community care, and safe long-term care.

The Canadian Atmospheric Laser Absorption Spectroscopy Experiment Test-bed (CALASET) aims to build a suite of instruments to verify measurements from Earth observing satellites. Ensuring that these space-based instruments are performing well is critical for producing reliable environmental data for Canadians. The CALASET-NXT project goals are two-fold: Develop new technologies for studying the changing atmosphere and providing a validation and verification capability for current and future satellite missions, and provide concept-to-flight education and training for the students who will become the scientists and engineers needed for future satellite missions.

Researchers at the University of Toronto (U of T) have developed a handheld 3D printer for the treatment of severe skin burns and wounds sustained by astronauts during deep-space missions. During the project, the function of an upgraded 3D printer and enhanced bioink will be evaluated during reduced gravity flights about the National Research Council of Canada (NRC)’s Falcon aircraft. In parallel, the ability of enhanced bioink to promote healing and reduce scarring will be confirmed. This work and its findings will bring this technology one step closer to deployment for clinical use in space. The skin printer also has the potential to improve the care and health outcomes associated with severe burns and chronic wounds in hospitals, as well as in rural, remote and Indigenous communities across Canada.
