This funding opportunity is expected to:

• Advance knowledge through the analysis of existing cohorts, data platforms and/or administrative datasets specific to one of the research areas above.

The Collaborative Research and Development (CRD) Grants are intended to give companies that operate from a Canadian base access to the unique knowledge, expertise, and educational resources available at Canadian postsecondary institutions and to train students in essential technical skills required by industry. The mutually beneficial collaborations are expected to result in industrial and/or economic benefits to Canada.

Engage Grants are designed to give innovative companies that operate from a Canadian base access to the unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities available at Canadian universities and colleges. These grants are intended to foster the development of new research partnerships by supporting short-term research and development projects aimed at addressing a company-specific problem; that is, a problem related to the company’s core competencies or activities. The simplified application and decision processes enable university and college researchers to quickly undertake new research collaborations that extend academic expertise to these problems. The mutually beneficial projects are expected to result in economic benefits to the company and to Canada and build impactful longer term collaborations between the applicant and the company.

The program provides financing for incentives offered to consumers who buy or lease an eligible ZEV.

The Postdoctoral Fellowships (PDF) Program provides support to a core of the most promising researchers at a pivotal time in their careers. The fellowships are also intended to secure a supply of highly qualified Canadians with leading-edge scientific and research skills for Canadian industry, government, and universities.

The SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships support the most promising Canadian new scholars in the social sciences and humanities and assists them in establishing a research base at an important time in their research careers.

Through the application of national and local priorities, the CSJ program seeks to provide youth who face barriers to employment with access to work opportunities. Funded employers must demonstrate that they are providing quality work experiences for youth that provide opportunities to develop and improve their skills. The CSJ program is delivered by the Department of ESD.

Accessibility improvements will be made to the Christ Church and restoration activities will be undertaken to preserve the stone of tomb Ojihjiskoh which was erected in 1840. Improvements made to both these sites are expected to attract more visitors.

The Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) are meant to nurture the interest of the students and fully develop their potential for a research career in the natural sciences and engineering. They are also meant to encourage students to undertake graduate studies in these fields. Students who would like to gain research experience in an academic setting, these awards can provide financial support through the hosting university. NSERC encourages qualified Aboriginal students to apply to this program.
