Project activities include: (1) facilitating opportunities for small farmers and cooperatives to access local markets and strengthen direct links with social protection programs for the sale of locally produced nutritious food; (2) strengthening local early warning system and integrated risk management plans to manage shocks and mitigate impacts with a age-sensitive and gender lens; (3) improving infrastructure of health, education and social protection institutions that are essential to guarantee optimal conditions for better nutrition and hygiene; and (4) improving local decision making related to food security and nutrition through multi-sectoral coordination and evidence generation considering child-sensitive and gender lens.

It supports local and regional women’s rights organizations (WROs), lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex plus (LBTQI+) groups and feminist networks working to promote the rights of women and girls and advance gender equality globally. It provides multi-year core funding and rapid responsive funding, strengthens institutional capacity and bolsters feminist movements, as WROs and feminist movements are critical change agents.

This project supports implementing the recommendations in the National Roadmaps for Building Strong Procedural Mechanisms for Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA), building on progress from Phase I (P010782) It aims to improve how Kenya and Somalia address MLA and extradition requests and strengthen international judicial cooperation (IJC) for Kenya and Somalia mechanisms in partnership with their IJC institutions. The project seeks to continue support to Somalia in drafting its first IJC law and standardizing IJC processes by updating or developing MLA guidelines for foreign states. It will also expand to assess IJC needs and gaps assessments in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda and South Sudan and engage them in a regional meeting to enhance judicial cooperation at the regional level. The ultimate goal is to make cross-border crime and terrorism investigations and prosecutions more effective.

This project aims to address complex issues related to illicit financial flows fueled by the rise in revenue associated with mineral-related organized crime in Nigeria. It seeks to reduce security threats in Nigeria stemming from money laundering and terrorism financing (ML/TF) driven by revenue associated with mineral-related crime. Project activities include: (1) facilitating domestic cooperation with relevant authorities; (2) collecting data and developing roadmaps on the practices of criminal and armed groups operating in the mining sector; (3) organizing awareness-raising workshops on ML/TF risks; (4) developing national Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) risk-based supervisory roadmaps in collaboration with licensing authorities; (5) delivering training workshops for Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) analysts and others relevant agencies; (6) delivering training workshops on intelligence collection and analysis in the context of mineral-related crime and ML/TF; (7) delivering workshops on parallel financial investigations on mineral supply chains; (8) delivering specialized advanced workshops on identification of ML/TF techniques (trade-based money laundering, forensic accounting, etc.) for law enforcement, FIUs and prosecution authorities responsible for investigating and prosecuting mineral-related crimes; and (9) facilitating international and regional working groups for law enforcement, customs and intelligence agencies.

This initiative aims to support stakeholders ongoing efforts by strengthening community cohesion, enhancing local governance and institutional capacities, while promoting gender equality and human rights, and encouraging regional cooperation with borders countries.

This project aims to strengthen Morocco’s leadership role in regional stability and terrorism prevention, in compliance with human rights standards and gender-responsive approaches. The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) implements this project to the benefit of the Training Center for the Gendarmerie Royale’s tactical policing unit (Groupement de Sécurité et d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Royale (GSIGR)) located in Benslimane, Morocco.

The project aims at improving the resilience of agricultural livelihoods, particularly for women, by promoting the adoption of gender-responsive climate-smart agriculture practices.

Project activities include: (1) updating existing curriculum to align with analyses and best practices including gender sensitivity; (2) identifying labour market gaps and needs in consultation with industry stakeholders, and strengthening the job matching mechanisms; and (3) developing a collaboration agenda with local TVET stakeholders.

This project aims to advance the promotion, respect, and fulfilment of human rights and gender equality across the occupied Palestinian territory for the period of 2024 to 2028 (5 years).
