Upgrade and ensure climate resilience of the west coast section of the T'railway

The project aims to provide in-service teacher training for newly appointed teachers and the School Networks Program (SNP) for experienced teachers with over 5 years of teaching training for school leaders. Over 5 years, 2,500 principals will be enrolled and trained in Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA)'s Advanced Instructional Leadership Professional Diploma (AILPD). Jordan's Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) and Ministry of Education (MoE) asked Canada to continue supporting QRTA's programs aligned with the MoE’s professional development plans. Project activities include: (1) supporting the Teacher Education Professional Development training program; (2) supporting the Advanced Instructional Leadership Professional Diploma training program; and (3) supporting Subject-Specific School Networks training program - an in-service subject-specific pedagogy teacher professional development program. Given that the MoE aims to take on responsibility for all teacher and leadership training, this will be the final phase of Canadian funding for QRTA.

This project aims to increase agropastoral women's adaptation to climate change and food security in the Guéra province in Chad. The project promotes the adoption of climate-smart agricultural solutions and food systems by women working in the millet, sorghum and poultry value chains. In addition, the project strengthens the effectiveness of microfinance institutions, women's organizations and state structures in supporting green economic growth.

Project activities include: (1) training women and their organisations in associative life and functional literacy; (2) providing technical assistance to microfinance institutions and government structures to develop financial services tailored to the needs of women in the millet, sorghum and poultry value chains; (3) training women in green entrepreneurship support services; and (4) promoting women's participation in agricultural and livestock sector management bodies.

The project will have a direct impact on 1,500 women entrepreneurs, 30% of whom are young women under 35 and 70% over 35. A further 15,900 people will benefit from the initiative, the majority of them women.

This project aims to enhance empowerment, socioeconomic well-being and enjoyment of rights for women and girls working in domestic care in Indonesia and the Philippines. Project activities include: (1) training domestic care workers on advocacy, leadership, and their right to decent work and living free from violence; (2) conducting feminist research to generate evidence on women’s rights and needs related to paid care work. It does so to influence national and international spaces effectively; and (3) providing technical support to civil society organizations, particularly women’s rights organizations, to implement gender-transformative, environmentally sustainable care programs.

Oxfam Canada implements this project in collaboration with Oxfam Indonesia and Oxfam Philippines, partnering with three local organizations per country. The partners in the Philippines are the Labor Education and Research Network, Pambansang Koalisyon ng Kababaihan sa Kanayunan, and United Domestic Workers of the Philippines. The partners in Indonesia include Jaringan Nasional Advokasi Pekerja Rumah Tangga, Yayasan Kalyanamitra and SMERU Research Institute.

Care Connect seeks to reach 5,148 people directly. This includes 244 young women ages 18 to 24, 3,874 women ages 25 and above, 140 young men ages 18 to 24, and 890 men ages 25 and above.

This project aims to reduce state and societal violence experienced by young Tunisian men and women in the target communities of Kasserine and Tataouine. Project activities include: (1) increasing capacity-building for youth groups, civil society organizations, and local media outlets to recognize and address incidences of gendered violence and its short and long-term impacts on society; (2) increasing visibility of gender-based violence among state leaders and society through media programming and sensitization campaigns; (3) facilitating inclusive and participative public dialogues; and (4) supporting youth-led advocacy campaigns.

This project addresses current safety and structural deficiencies in the LAF warehouse facilities by providing a properly outfitted warehouse for material accountability, tracking and distribution. The project will provide space for a structured materials management system to improve the efficiency of material movement and tracking as well as allow for continued training in critical area and logistics to build the LAF's capabilities and support regional security and stability.

The purpose of this project is to provide the Mountain Warfare Ski School (MWSS) a facility that is capable of establishing practical service and preventative maintenance to vehicles, as well as to establish a learning environment that supports a variety of instructional needs and allows for multi-gender occupancy to support female integration efforts into LAF operations. Development of the MWSS will build on the LAF’s ability to maintain a consistent supply of equipment and resources to all arms and is paramount in their ability to provide consistent protection to their borders and reduce the influx of undesirable elements that currently exists.

This requirement is part of the Canadian Armed Forces mandate to enhance LAF operations within Lebanon and set the conditions for continued training and development that will build LAF capabilities and support regional stability. At present, the primary storage location for the large, high value components such as snowmobiles (LOSV) and utility-task vehicles (UTV) is not functional as it provides no shelter from the elements, has no discernible system of organization, and does not allow for a workspace for operators and service personnel. This means that equipment, including donations from Canada and other international partners, is not able to be optimized by the LAF leading to a loss of capability as equipment is damaged in storage. Additionally, there is no appropriate location for conducting training and education efforts and the ability to engage female integration into the training is limited due to a lack of safe, appropriate accommodations.

Acquisition of equipment and leasehold improvements: The project aims to increase production and improve productivity at a company dedicated to the processing of marine products.
