The objectives of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy Program (YESSP) are to help all youth navigate through the labour market and to successfully transition into sustained employment. These objectives are attained by supporting the needs of all youth, especially youth facing barriers to develop skills, knowledge and networks through education, skills development and meaningful work experiences.

Project activities include: (1) working with Ministries of Health in affected countries and the WHO, to ensure refugees and other displaced people are included in national surveillance, response planning, and activities for COVID-19; (2) establishing protection monitoring and reporting networks in collaboration with governments and partners to mitigate potential protection risks for refugees and displaced people, including restriction to access to territory and right to seek asylum; (3) increasing provision of primary and secondary health care, infection prevention in health facilities, clean water and soap, and community outreach on hygiene best practices; and (4) ensuring refugees, their host communities and persons of concern have access to timely, relevant and accurate information in applicable language(s), and counter the spread of misinformation.

Funding will support the second phase of a project aimed at enhancing the decision-making skills of Canadian Army officers on the battlefield through virtual simulation.

The totaliQ platform will leverage existing platform data augmented with new project planning metadata to surface learnings from similar past projects and generate project insights and risk warnings during project planning.

Research and development of machine learning models to perform various tasks related to communications.

Building of an on-board artificial intelligence deep learning model

We will then perform an initial Machine Learning pass to validate that there are signals in the data which relate to the outcomes we are looking for.

Development of Official Language Communities Program

​The objective of the project is to provide the intern with experience in primary commercial beekeeping, through learning how to handle, feed, and care for honey colonies in a manner appropriate for the season. The intern will learn about replacement hives, recognize & report hive health issues, move hives, collect and package honey, beeswax, sparing hives, pulling honey, honey extraction and bee yard maintenance.

Produce approximate (yet accurate) spectra from atomic structures using supervised learning on a large dataset of first principles-based calculations.
