The purpose of the Indigenous Habitat Participation Program and the Salish Sea Initiative, is to support the participation of Indigenous peoples in activities relating to the conservation and protection of fish and fish habitat, including the development of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans’ (DFO) policies, program elements and regulations and the development of their technical capacity to support greater involvement in the conservation and protection of fish and fish habitat.

The purpose of the Indigenous Habitat Participation Program- Grant Funding is to meet the legal obligations to support the participation of Indigenous communities in consultations on Departmental Crown conduct (i.e., decisions, such as arrangements, approvals, authorizations and permits) under the Fisheries Act and/or Species at Risk Act.

Funding will support advancements in robotic platforms and methods of control to be leveraged to help CAF members accomplish high risk tasks.

The project seeks to reduce the heavy, unequal and unfair burden of unpaid and paid care work (UPCW) borne by women and girls (W&Gs) in northern Ghana. U-CARE will work with key stakeholders such as the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), national policy makers and district assemblies to map UPCW in northern Ghana and create an enabling policy and programming environment to recognize, reduce and redistribute UPCW in ten northern districts. The Canadian Executing Agency (CEA), Alinea International, will deliver the project in collaboration with two key local partners: Social Enterprise Development Foundation (SEND) Ghana and Network for Women’s Rights in Ghana (NETRIGHT).
Key project activities include: (1) facilitating government policy and service provision through the utilization of time use data; (2) supporting grassroots actions to redistribute care at the household and community levels through the use of Gender Model Families (GMFs); (3) supporting women’s rights organizations (WROs) from regional to district level to undertake a National Advocacy Strategy on UPCW; and (4) supporting local entrepreneurs and women-led businesses to develop and market new goods and services to reduce the burden of UPCW for W&Gs.

This project contributes to the achievement of the Philippines’ Universal Health Care Law objectives aiming to ensure that all Filipinos have access to affordable and equitable health services.

The Fostering Resilience through Sustainable Water Management and Climate-Smart Agriculture project aims to improve the Government of Iraq’s ability to develop and apply evidence-based planning to better manage and sustain Iraq’s water resources.

This initiative aims to address gender inequalities, particularly around unpaid care work and barriers to the knowledge, skills and conditions necessary for women’s meaningful participation in the economy.

The project aims to reduce barriers to education and meet the needs of young girls and boys in terms of nutrition, overall health and sexual and reproductive health and rights in the Lake Chad province in Chad. Project activities include: (1) providing nutritious meals and a deworming package to pre-school and elementary school children; (2) raising awareness among girls, boys and their communities about sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence, female genital mutilation and early marriage; (3) training women and adolescent girls on menstrual hygiene management and in the design of reusable sanitary pads to reduce absenteeism in schools; and (4) sensitizing communities on the importance of education for all children, especially girls. The number of direct beneficiaries of the project is estimated at 15,025, including 9,050 adolescents and girls in the Lake Chad province.

This project aims to improve the realization of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). It particularly targets those experiencing vulnerability, in Bolivia. Project activities include: (1) training on SRHR and related topics to strengthen associated programming and initiatives; and (2) improving the SRHR capacity of relevant actors, communities, and institutions to create change through material or technical support. Plan International Canada implements this project in 52 communities across 8 municipalities in 4 departments in Bolivia.

The proposed project is a continuation of ArcRisk work, including the expansion of the model to
integrate stressors derived from various climate change scenarios and to compare potential riskreduction
management strategies in 2023-24 and 2024-25. The project will also undertake
stakeholder consultations to validate the model structures and to communicate the model
functions, results, and feasibility of management scenarios.
