• Incorporating sex and gender into health research makes for better science that is more rigorous and more applicable to the needs of everybody. The CIHR Institute of Gender and Health (CIHR-IGH) will provide funding for applications determined to be relevant to its mandate and that explicitly incorporate an intersectional lens within sex, gender and health research.
o The CIHR-IGH mandate is to foster research excellence regarding the influence of sex and gender on health and to apply these findings to identify and address pressing health challenges facing men, women, girls, boys and gender-diverse people.

• The Indigenous Healthy Life Trajectories Initiative (I-HeLTI), under the co-leadership of the CIHR Institute of Indigenous Peoples' Health (CIHR-IIPH) and the CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (CIHR-IHDCYH), will provide bridge funding for applications that are determined to be relevant to their mandate and research priority area as described below:
o IIPH Mandate:
¿ IIPH fosters the advancement of a national health research agenda to improve and promote the health of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples in Canada, through research, knowledge translation and capacity building. The Institute's pursuit of research excellence is enhanced by respect for community research priorities and Indigenous knowledges, values and cultures.
o IHDCYH Mandate:
¿ IHDCYH foster growth and equity across Canada's human development, child and youth health research community to advance science, promote knowledge and ways of knowing, and address the needs of children, youth and families in Canada and globally.
o Research Priority Area:
¿ Human development, child and/or youth health in Indigenous populations (First Nations, Inuit or Metis)

• The CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (CIHR-IHDCYH), will provide bridge funding for an application by an¿early-career researcher¿that is relevant to the Institute's¿mandate:
o As a lifecycle-based Institute, IHDCYH has a broad mandate that covers defined time periods and a wide range of issues pertaining to human development: pre-conception; fertilization; embryonic and fetal development; the health of the mother and father; and the health and development of infants, children, and youth.
• Bridge funding can be used at the NPA’s discretion to catalyze work on their proposed project in the manner they feel best moves forward their research program, for example, collection of pilot data, demonstration of feasibility, or work to address peer review comments.

• This award was established to recognize the excellence of cancer research being conducted in Canada. This award will be given annually to the highest-ranking Early Career Researchers in the Project competition that fall within the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research (CIHR-ICR) mandate:
o ICR has a mandate to support research that reduces the burden of cancer on individuals and families through prevention strategies, screening, diagnosis, effective treatments, psycho-social support systems, and palliation.

• The CIHR Institute of Cancer Research (CIHR-ICR) has a mandate to support research that reduces the burden of cancer on individuals and families through prevention strategies, screening, diagnosis, effective treatments, psycho-social support systems, and palliation.
• This priority announcement (PA) is designed to support research in Cancer Prevention and Early Detection of Cancer within the following areas:
o Research that prevents the onset of cancer (lowers cancer risk) and/or reduces the severity of the disease through early detection when it is at its most treatable.
o Research that creates new knowledge in cancer prevention and screening and/or moves it into practice in the health system, communities, workplaces, and in the daily lives of Canadians.

• The CIHR Institute of Genetics (CIHR-IG) will provide funding for applications that are determined to be relevant to its mandate:
o CIHR-IG supports research on the human and model genomes and on all aspects of genetics, basic biochemistry and cell biology related to health and disease, including the translation of knowledge into health policy and practice, and the societal implications of genetic discoveries
